My neighbour has a daughter and informed me as much. We didn't know what we were going to have, but were suspecting a girl, so I had this in the back of my mind.

When my daughter was born I kept telling people "I just need to know it gets easier - please tell me it gets easier".

And it does.

As someone who will be having kids after many of his friends have already gone first, I gotta say the whole "It's gonna suck, it's the hardest thing ever, you aren't going to know how you're going to make it, but it gets easier, look at my 14 year old son mowing the lawn. Just think. Only 14 years of crap and it starts to pay off" is kind of a downer for people that should be at a pretty exciting time of their life.

I don't even look forward to having kids anymore thanks to all the whining of the parents I know, I just look forward to having a couple 5 year olds.

Anyways Dan, I'll stop filling your thread with my rants, all the old timers (my parents who managed 2 little kids and still getting in their early 20s parties) say that sure it takes up some time, but its awesome, a lot of fun, and something they really look back fondly upon. So enjoy it buddy!
