Default CPS caught racing for donuts

Didn't really look like "street racing" or "drag racing" to me, but the video is still funny.

What a non-story. That was racing??

Are there not better things that could be investigated? Like honestly it seems pointless and a dumb use of resources to be looking into this "street race"

If a cop saw you doing the same thing, do you think he would just ignore it?

I actually had something similar happen to me in Victoria a couple of years ago. Three police cars went screaming by me and my girlfriend and almost smoked us, sirens blaring. We just happened to be going the same way as them and caught them turning into a Tim Horton's parking lot.

Also the CPS commented on the video and asked the uploader to provide a date/time so they can speak to the officers involved. So the CPS doesn't see investigating this as a waste of time.

If you were seen doing this, you'd get a ticket for stunting.

Of which you would fight and win as all he did was pull ahead of the first vehicle to get in the lane he needed. How fast do you really think he was going?

Maybe you should pay more attention to your surroundings if you don't notice 3 cop cars with sirens blaring? What else can the cops do to warn you they are coming besides having their sirens on. Should they pull up beside you and ask for you to politely move?

So many clueless drivers. Drive me nuts having to dodge you people while you are off in la la land.

That's a big assumption you just made. It is possible to be pulled over to the shoulder and stopped and still get hit or be close to getting hit.

Right, I'm supposed to see three cop cars round a corner six feet behind me, and then hit their sirens just as one of them swerves to miss me? Good call. And why are they hitting their sirens for a doughnut run?

I didn't see stunting, I saw one car step on it slightly harder in order to get in front of traffic. So they happened to be going into Timmies. Oh the huge manatee! I think that's what makes people look at this peculiarly, not the "racing". Police aren't supposed to get coffee breaks!

Assuming that's what he meant to describe. It doesn't matter. If the police, ems or firefighters having their sirens on and they are driving at a high speed they are on their way to potentially save someone life. If the police cut a little close to his car for his comfort - to bad. They are doing their job.

If they had their lights on for their job, you may have a point. However as was said they had their lights on going to a donut shop.

How do we know their call wasn't cancelled?

^^ Another good possibility. So many things unknown- which is why I don't think it's a good idea for one poster to call another clueless; especially when all the facts are not known.

Fine, he/she stepped on it a little bit. It happens constantly, police or not. The only problem here is he then turned into a Tim Hortons, and people seem to get offended that police are going for doughnuts. IMO, this is a complete non-story.

Really? This wasn't like a five minute time lapse. We're talking maybe a minute to two minutes between them hitting their lights and then me seeing them pull into Timmy's.

A call can be cancelled via their radios in seconds. I'm just saying, in your case it's not known that they almost hit you because they were racing to get a coffee.
