I don't think it's illegal but maybe shady. I had Bell satellite when I moved to BC from Calgary and informed them that I moved. They even sent me a new dish and changed my billing address but they never changed my dish location, so I was receiving Alberta hockey programming. I didn't even know that Bell used two addresses but I never complained because I understood that it was a win for me. The only problem was that all my programming was an hour off and this was a bother. This changed when I upgraded to HD and Bell went to the Calgary address to upgrade my dish. I've since ordered Centre Ice to satisfy my hockey needs. So yeah technically, but maybe not legally you can have Bell in Calgary and than set up your own dish in BC, don't tell them of your address change and continue to receive Calgary programming as the programming is associated with your receiver.
I don't know how Shaw Direct does their programming though but I know many snowbirds take their receivers south with them to watch Canadian TV. This doesn't work well with Bell because their new satellites are spotlighted to cover only Canada and the border states.
One other consideration is that is your new BC location compatible with satellite TV. What I mean is are their trees or buildings blocking your view of the satellites?

Early in the season is so frustrating.

The Boston/NY game is glitchy off and on. I have good sound and good video when it's not glitchy though.

Just tell them that all your friends got the free upgrade. If that does not work then threaten to move to telus. They normally cave when you tell them you are going to change to the competitor.
It will take a while. They will probably send you up the chain of command .

I caved and bought the $50 NHL centre ice package, but it is intolerable that whoever is in charge thought it was a good idea to not let anyone see the Pitt/PHI game earlier.

It was blacked out because it was on one of the NBC channels. I was watching it for a bit earlier.

I had Centre Ice for the full season last year. In my opinion I don't think it's worth it. Random games are blacked out from time to time, and there are times when games don't show up in the guide, but untitled on one of the "Sports Packages". Maybe that's just been my experience, but with the variety of ways to watch online, I'll pass

The quality is worse than an internet stream. Nowhere close to HD.

Just talked to technician, and FYI for anyone else having this issue, our HD Pvr boxes are too old and cant process Mpeg-4 channels. I ordered a new box that has the proper capabilities for $350, or $10 added to your monthly bill for 36 months.

I cancelled my cable completely and bought Apple TV and Gamecenter yesterday. All games seemed to work great for me.
Fingers crossed for today!

With all the blackout restrictions we have in Canada, I find gamecenter and nhl centre ice to be a big joke. I'm stuck watching them on illegal stream until they make more sense out of it.

Can you update the ps3 app yet? Total bs and cheapness if the NHL makes you pay to update an app you already own, that's the jist I got from a post on the last page
