To me that WJC highlight video really emphasizes the skill and control Johnny has with the puck - not to mention his on ice awareness. He also seemed to have some chemistry there with JT Miller (wouldn't it be nice to pick him up from the Rangers I'm excited to see Gaudreau at training camp next year and hopefully in a few exhibition games.
My expectation is that Gaudreau will probably play four years of college.
Just curious as to why you say that?
To me, he has nothing left to prove at that level. National Championship, Bean Pot champs, WJC Gold, numerous weekly and monthly awards, tournament MVP of the National Championships, First Team All-Star in the World Juniors.
If I was him, I'd be pretty satisfied and take that next step in his career.

I'm thinking the same. Gaudreau's next step will be to get used to a more intensive schedule, which can only occur if he goes to a professional league.
I think it's possible he'll stay in college. It's hard to say at this point. The biggest factor for keeping him there would be his size. The safest way to mature that asset is through the college route. Look at the guy, he's the size of a macaroni noodle.
The guy still had a long ways to go to make the NHL. If I am him I stay in school to get bigger and have a plan B. But I am not him. It will really be up to him.

I think the only thing that might make him go back for year three would be the chance to play with his brother, Matt, who will be attending BC next year.
If he wins the Hobey Baker, which he is the favorite to do now, he'll really have nothing else to prove at that level.
I think the chances of him staying at BC next year are probably 50/50 now, but highly unlikely he'll play all four years.
