I've been trying to figure out the angle on that comment, but I seriously have no idea. Inflation sucks? Germany is awesome? Idol (sic) shouldn't be on TV anymore?
I'm starting to think that people who support this movement have no f-ing clue what it's about, and are just making noise for the sake of hearing their own voice. Especially when I read stuff like this (off my facebook, from someone I know that is FN)

I could sum up this thread with a few words. Paternalistic, colonial, bigotted, redneck, ignorant, racist etc. etc.
Please, discuss! I dislike only one sided arguments, they end up becoming tedious.
I am fascinated with this story and issue. I really don't know much about the issues that the native communities face, but would love to know more. I would like to hear from people who have some skin in the game about what they have in mind for solutions to their own communities.
There aren't that many natives. I used to think there were, but that was when I was living in Winnipeg. There aren't that many of them, and there are even fewer living in reserves. Why is it such a difficult issue for us to deal with then? I have my own ideas, but I would love to hear more.

And that part about the kitchen mixers is an awesome WTF.
All this is kinda like the Occupy Calgary movement. A whole lot of noise and disruption with little actual substance. I'm afraid it'll just detract from any rational discourse about the actual problems that exist.

the oka crisis(if thats where the photo was taken...and im guessing it was) was FAR different than whats going on now. Ive only read up on what Will Ferguson wrote about it in "#######s and Boneheads" but they got the shaft on that one.
The catch 22 of this whole subject is first nations have pretty well always, and still do, get screwed from every angle, by us, by their own 'leaders' by the feds.
Unfortunatly this doesn't alter the fact that getting money/help just continues the cycle of impotant dependance and instills in natives a sense of worthlessness, it doesn't matter how much or why you are getting free money destroys the soul, which is why lottery winners tend to end up a mess.

On top of that, they mostly used slave labor in prison camps for political dissidents to make consumer products.
You know behind the wall all of the Occupyers and Idle No More members would have been rounded up and either shot or put into pleasant little country side Gulags guarded by the Stasi.
