I have a little cousin who is about 12, and I plan to get into his region and build a city rife with crime and pollution in the hopes that it creates havoc in his, most likely, meticulously built city. Muahaha. I am a mean cousin sometimes.

I wonder if the tilt-shift filter will be adjustable.

More interestingly, I wonder if the tilt-shift effect, in addition to making the game look awesome, actually improves framerates - don't need nearly as much rendering power for those sections of the screen, assuming you can render directly like that rather than having to render and then filter.

I'd bet it's a calculated filter after the fact, but maybe they can mess the the LoD for blurred objects if raw polygon throughput is a limiting factor.

There aren't tons of options. Cars, buses, trams, trains, ferries, taxis, and planes are confirmed methods of travel. Below are some screenshots showing a few of the public transportation methods (buses, trams, and trains). I don't think I have seen a screenshot of ferries or airports yet.

Last week they were having a bug with taxis they were calling "Taxigeddon" at Maxis:
