The only reason why we cut through that building is that the darn Arctic wind on Sunday blew us in that direction, so we warmed up a bit and continued our photo walk in Eau Claire.

we had this sorta 'fog' roll in for maybe 45 minutes early this evening.
there is some construction on a property down the street from us and they've got a big light suspended and it looked pretty cool - the pic does not do it justice.

it felt kinda 'x-fileish'

Some pics of a old beat-up firetruck I came across on a bright, sunny day:

I love having an architectural gem to capture on a regular basis.
Best looking skyscraper in Canada (IMO). Though I wish it was another 20 stories taller.

Hopefully everyone isn't getting tired of the Bow.
Here's one more. (The massive shadow is coming from the Calgary Tower)

The shadow definitely adds something to that photo.

I saw this video recently where some photographers took shots from points on a circle around the CN Tower. The result is pretty cool.

I wonder if this could be done with the Bow, or are there too many obstructions?

^^^ Perhaps if the Bow was another 500 feet taller.

Yeah, it's harder when you're dealing with a building that is half the height, but there has to be a sweet spot where you could get decent sight lines from enough angles. It would just take more work. I think it's an interesting project anyway.

Plus it's easier to do that on a tall skinny symmetrical structure.
Where the Bow is different from all sides.

Maybe if the Calgary Tower was taller. Plus the CN tower is kinda off by itself, no giant buildings competing for height.

Got a nice e-mail this morning saying a photo of mine has been short-listed for publication in Canadian Geographic in their "Weather" competition. I will sheepishly admit I'd forgotten about it and couldn't initially remember what photo they were talking about. They need a hi-res version for the final level of judging.

I won't put it here for the moment as who knows who's watching and I wouldn't want to upset the apple cart. Later.

Nice way to start the day though.

Cowperson.
