1-1 after the first. Heat goal by Street, but a beautiful play by Brodie to hold up at the blueline and then find the trailer down the wing with a nice saucer pass.
Funny moment. Fans behind the Rochester bench were heckling Tarnasky, and he was yellling back at them with his goofy no-tooth grin.
A few minutes later the Kiss Cam comes along, and up comes Tarnasky on the screen, who promptly grabs Mancari and smooches him on the helmet.
Final score 3-1 Heat. Ruegsegger (sp?) and Street with his 2nd of the night. Baertschi hooked from behind on a breakaway and didn't get a shot away, then the goalie outwaited him on the penalty shot. Brodie is the best damned skater in the AHL. That is all.

Not for long.
With the lockout ending, some AHL teams are going to be changed significantly when all the NHL guys go up.
OKC has scored 112 goals. Eberle, Schultz, Hall, and Nugent-Hopkins have scored 65 of them (75 if you include Hartikainen, who could also go to Edmonton).

You have to think Wahl will finally be getting a shot in Abbotsford once Baertschi, Horak, and Street get the call up to Calgary for training camp.
I was thinking that too but the Heat have 17 forwards on their roster now. Bouma is injured but I don't know if any others are so on the surface it doesn't look like they need to make any call ups. If they do make a forward call up and it isn't Wahl, I guess he doesn't have any future left in this organization. I could see a team like Phoenix (Playfair connection) picking him up.
Heat have recalled D Drew MacKenzie from Utah (ECHL).
He's a first-year pro who came out of the University of Vermont. He has 14 points in 25 games for the Grizzlies.
The Heat have nine defensemen officially on their roster: Brady Lamb, Zach McKelvie, T.J. Brodie, Steve McCarthy, Drew MacKenzie, Chris Breen, Joe Callahan, Nick Tuzzolino and Joe Piskula.
Martin has been injured for a while. Grizzlies are low on d-men, Patterson has been on defence since before Xmas and doing a very good job.
It might be interesting if they make that change permanent, defensesive awareness was always Patterson's strength, putting him in a position where it accentuates his strengths and makes his weak offensive game less important could be fantastic for him
I remember when Wahl was on the cusp of making the team, and was one of the last cuts. Really hope he has gotten 100% over his concussion problems, and has his head on straight again. I also hope that the organization hasn't given up on him at all.
