My college football history doesb't go back far enough to say you are right there but worst that I can certainly remember. The only thing is that under the current silly standards that rankings have they were the legit number 1 because people focus way too much on records and computers rather than what is right in front of their faces.

Always disgusting to see Saban win at the college level. I give Kelly respect for being able to shake that scumbags hand.

Meh, people hate Saban for the Dolphins thing, which was pretty classless, but sports is filled with crap like that. College football in general seems to have a lot of ######bags, but at least he's not Mike Gundy.

I hate him for the way he seems to just dislike everything. Maybe I read into it too much into it but even the gatorade bath seemed to piss him off. It just seems like after this win he doesn't take 5 seconds to enjoy it and just wants to figure out how he can pay the next couple of recruits to come to his team.
I know people laughed at Pete Carrol a lot but at least you knew he enjoyed coaching. Layne Kiffin as great as a recruiter as he is could learn a thing or two from that.

Congratulations to Mississippi, Mississippi State, Tennnessee, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt fans on your seventh consecutive national championship. Also since that's how it works, congrats to Stanford and Baylor fans on their championship since without them the SEC can't win its 7th national championship in a row.
And people hate Nick Saban because he comes off like almost every college coach: Slimey, distasteful, dishonest and a general liar. The Dolphins thing well, that proves what a "great" coach he was, running away the first chance he got. Jim Harbaugh is a much better coach than Saban ever wishes to be, and I despise Harbaugh too. Though to be fair to Nick, he does have no salary cap and no draft to worry about in college, which has to help.

Some one is bitter....LOL
I just cant believe anyone thinks that the current system has any real merit any longer after watching that nonsense last night...though without question it would be difficult to argue that Bama wasnt the best team in the country yet again and full marks to them for it. Scary they could be right there again next year with a bunch of guys returning.
Like or dislike the SEC as a whole, its more than apparent that that conference does things better than any other when it comes to results and certainly winning the big prize.

Bitter much?
I hate the SEC as much as the next guy but you sound like a depressed Golden Domer. We can hate Saban all we want but he's quickly making his case for best college coach ever, stacking up piles of national titles like he was on an episode of hoarders will do that.
What makes it worse is I think the team with the best chance to knock the SEC off of its perch is Ohio State. Hopefully Oregon can avoid too bad of a ban hammer and stop losing trap games late in the season and keep thselves in the mix too.

I'm not bitter...but this morning I think I've seen as much from SEC fans celebrating than I've seen from actual Bama fans. I say it all the time, but if the Falcons win the Super Bowl I'm not claiming part of, or celebrating in the least, their accomplishment because they play in the same division my favorite team does. In fact I'm actively rooting against them for that fact. SEC "fans" are the saddest group there is. LSU, Bama and Florida fans should be happy with what's been accomplished, the rest of the conference is a joke. Cheer for your team, but cheering for a group of teams is pretty sad.

I think the difference lies in the fact that any time strength of schedule influences your national ranking, people are going to want their conference to be seen as the best. The other fan bases that aren't in title contention try to justify the record of their team by how difficult the conference is, as well.
When a playoff system is implemented, some of it will go away, but SOS will still factor in. The NFL comparison isn't relevant because SOS doesn't come in to play. As a Saints fan, I'd never root for the Falcons in the playoffs.
Last night I watched two of my most disliked teams play, and found myself pulling for Bama because an SEC title this season can have an influence on where my team ends up next season. A Falcons Super Bowl victory (LOL!) would have no influence on my Saints next season.
I wanted to stay impartial, but that's just how it is.

I mean I can see your point to a degree, that for your team to be playing in the dominant conference in college football enhances its own chances of playing in meaningful games in the current system. I just find it hilarious that any LSU fans can take any pride in Alabama winning. I do think there's also a southern thing about it as well, cause I really, really, doubt you'll ever see Michigan fans do anything but wish death to Ohio State.

Good lord, even as someone who is both an MSU and Dolphins fan, two teams he bailed on, I think this is ridiculously over the top.

It happens in hockey all the time too with West/East.
