Not that I want to defend that puke Spector but he was writing about the Canadian team to a Canadian audience why would he spend time talking about Gaudreau in that article?
He briefly mentioned Gibson and that was it. It wasn't like he talked up a bunch or even multiple Americans specifically leaving out Gaudreau.

Sometimes you have to give credit to your opponents and the Canadian media IMO is kind of overlooking that the Canadians just lost to the better coached, better goaltender and faster team.

So I've heard the Bruins wanted Gaudreau and they are in cap trouble next year. Would we be interested in trading for Krejci?

Id assumhe Flames would be very interested in Krejci.
However, the Bruins would want more then just Gaudreau.
The Flames are not in a position to be dealing cheap contracts/prospects, etc.
I like the moves the Flames made in the off-season and at this point id just let it ride without giving up valuable assets and see where we sit in the summer.

It would be so dissapointing if the flames traded Johnny. Even for David Krejci.

I like krejci, but there is no way on earth I would trade Gaudreau to get him.
First of all, Gaudreau is full of potential and it would end up biting us in the ass, and second of all Krejci makes over 5 million and is 7 years older.
I really think once Johnny gets stronger and faster he will be a top line player. Give him 3 years.

When does Sir Hockey return to the Eagles? When is his next game?

I'm kind of with you as IMO Krejci is a good but not elite player. There is no guarantee John Gaudreau will even be a full time NHL player but I think it's time for this team to start making a pool of talented young players rather than always rolling with late 20's and 30-something players. Krejci may buy the Flames a small handful of regular season wins but in the big picture it's more wheel spinning by the organization.

Lets developed our talent. Wouldn't you be pissed if Johnny was going to be our next franchise player, along side Sven, but we traded him for David Krejci? I would be livid. Especially with the hype and expectations around Johnny. If he doesn't flesh out, that happens. He was a fourth rounder, so it won't sting too much. If he does live up to expectations that is absolutely awesome and ridiculous.
Trading him at this point in a win-now-forget-about-tomorrow move is shortsighted. To say the least.

Im a huge fan of Gaudreau, but if he becomes a comparable player to Krejci we should be very happy.
I want the Flames to keep their youth and not trade it away, but youth can be a risk.

Agree with the last few posts. Let's try and build this franchise through great drafting and less splashy (wasteful) signings. The next few years look promising with Horak, Sven , Granlund, Ramo, Ramage (if they sign him to a contract), Brodie, Gaudreau, Wotherspoon and the rest of these kids we have.

I would make the deal although not sure why Boston would.
I would expect they would want more than a maybe prospect for a multiple 60+ point guy.
I don't think Krecji is a perfect fit for the Flames but he is talented and if Gaudreau turned out to be him in 3 years that would be pretty impressive.
