It was a really pretty goal. Sven to Brodie, Brodie to Walter, Walter to back of the net

The Heat are playing better, just can't seem to get in going today.

They'll break out of this slump if they play like this most nights.

48 SOG and only 2 markers. There's a definite lack of quality chances. Brust has been fairly solid, all things considered.

The Heat are going to drop like a rock once Sven, Horak and Brodie join the Flames full time.

Baertschi made 2 amazing feeds on the last shift there but both were shot wide. Too bad the shift had to end in an empty net goal.

Amerks win 5-2.

For Christmas my wife was going to get me a Baertschi Heat jersey, but the 3 - 4 weeks delay for adding the name put her off.

I'm actually kind of interested in any Heat game-worn jerseys. Does anyone know if or where they are for sale?

That's a tough one. You should call the Heat Store for details on that.

There's also a chance (a small chance) to win a game worn jersey on the fan appreciation night at the end of the season. They give a game worn jersey to fans selected at random from a draw.

It's been a pretty cool tradition lately, but the chances of winning one is slim.

Thanks PMM. Finally tonight I'll be going for the first time this season, so I can ask my questions in person! Go Heat Go!

(EDIT: Perhaps tonight is the last time to see Baertschi/Brodie in Heat colours???)

why did you have to say that? That's my worst nightmare both as a fan and a reporter...

Good thing you're coming to the game tonight then haha.

I would also potentially add Horak to that list for two reasons: 1) he's the leading goal scorer and has taken advantage of his larger role this season, and 2) mid-season AHL players (especially prospects who have been playing well) are probably a high-commodity for NHL teams starting from a cold state.

^ oh sorry! There I go again, just thinking about myself!

No slight on Horak intended, and I fully agree he'll be with the big club. Was actually eyeing a game-worn Horak Flames jersey the other day...

Breen wasn't in the lineup last night. If he's not in the lineup tonight, I'll ask Ward what his status is.

He's a pretty big loss, especially since his replacement was Tuzzolino last night who had a bad game. Turnovers, forced passes, and for a huge guy he got pushed around too much.

Minnesota has pulled Granlund from the Aeros lineup in anticipation of a CBA, I wonder if the Flames do the same with Sven? Some extra recovery time before the season kicks off vs some pre-CBA playing time to shake the rust after missing a pile of games...

Shut. Up. I've got great seats - right on the red line behind the benches, and this may be my only chance to see Baertschi live. If he's not playing I'm blaming you!

EDIT: rink announcer just read the scratches and Sven isn't one of them. Breen's out again.
