Why would there need to be a full investigation? Tottenham could just present the "huge amount of evidence" they have against United and Liverpool that for whatever reason they've been with-holding all these years.

Jaap Stam has claimed Sir Alex Ferguson made an illegal approach to sign him for Manchester United.
The United central defender's revelations, in his new autobiography 'Head To Head', will come as a huge embarrassment to his manager.
They come just 24 hours after Arsenal's Patrick Vieira alleged in a Sunday newspaper that a similar approach had been made to try to lure him to Old Trafford.

Stinks because as a Man U fan it was handled so poorly by Fergie and Man U?
As for Fergie's "cell phone" trail what exactly can that prove? Won't it just show that Tottenham and Standard Liege may have talked during the transfer window when clubs all over Europe talk to each other all the time?

Complaining. It's a chance to get a few free shots at Spurs/Levy, highlight their under-handed behaviour and expose them for the ...... hypocrites that they are. You honestly expect him to be quiet when he's been handed a golden opportunity to let rip and stir things up? It's not as if Spurs have landed anyone of significance.
And you can bet your bottom dollar he spoke with the legal team before throwing out such strong accusations straight at the club and Levy in particular. One would think that squeaky clean Spurs/Levy will surely sue for slander and libel ......
After all they'd never be involved with tapping ...
Quote:
Tottenham have been branded as hypocrites over their decision to report Manchester United and Liverpool for allegedly tapping up their strikers.
The accusation comes from Spanish club Sevilla, who are angry about the circumstances leading up to manager Juande Ramos’ move to Spurs.
Senior White Hart Lane officials, including secretary John Alexander, were photographed last August at the same Spanish hotel as Ramos when he was still Sevilla manager, and Martin Jol was Tottenham coach.
The embarrassing revelation of contact between Tottenham and Ramos prompted a crisis at both clubs, and effectively left Jol a lame duck until he was finally sacked at the end of October.
Tottenham’s pursuit of Ramos enraged Sevilla president Jose Maria Del Nido, who was incredulous last month when Spurs chairman Daniel Levy lodged official complaints about the conduct of United and Liverpool in relation to their public pursuit of Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane, respectively. Del Nido had previously accused Tottenham of treachery, and yesterday he stepped up his attack.
“I think it is hypocrisy personified that Spurs are complaining about things they themselves have done,” Del Nido said.

How much did they end up getting for Fryers in the end?
How could they have got if they accepted the offer last season?
I could be wrong but 3 million seems a lot more than what will amount to less than 1 million.

He was undervalued at 3M which Tottenham agreed with hence their reluctance to go to Tribunal.

Great.
Did they get the 3 million or not?
I guess they can say "he was undervalued at 3 million" and feel good but the only reason to be upset or whining about the deal stinking is if you have a problem as a Man U fan about missing out on the money.

If he had been signed by any other PL team today there would be absolutely zero whining despite the f-a-c-t that they DID NOT get the 3M and would still be missing out on the money. It's not complicated.
It's the underhandedness and circumvention of the rules that is the complaint.
.
Personally, I think fair play to Spurs on exploiting a loophole that will soon be closed.

that's my point though, everyone does stuff like it
Chelsea had to actually pay a fine for Kakuta a few years ago from a french club for tapping up
for Fergie to complain about losing a 20 year old LB who isn't a top prospect or anything is strange, if someone did something underhanded to get Rooney or something I would understand
I saw someone say he has been on edge ever since the RM CL draw and it fits, went after Pardew and Newcastle, now Spurs, he hadn't done that in awhile

What are you talking about? He's not complaining about losing anyone? He could care less about Fryers. How do you figure his behavior to be strange? He's presented an opportunity to take a swipe at Spurs and Levy and their dealings and takes it.
It's nothing to do with the quality of the player but everything but making sure that the world and his dog knows what Spurs and Levy did, something to put on the backburner and bring up when he poaches their next kid and their subsequent whining
Strange behaviour in this case would be to roll over and do nothing.

And with this, Liverpool supporters don't have to decide between blaming officiating or claiming the entire league is a premeditated conspiracy, should their team not win or draw this weekend.
Rob Harris @RobHarris
Man United-Liverpool referee at Old Trafford is Howard Webb
