Reading a bit of the HF lovefest for Johnny Hockey today it was funny whenever there was someone ripping him they appeared to be an Edmonton or Vancouver fan. It would be amazing if Gaudreau was able to win Gold, lead the tourny in pts and goals. Oilers fans were certain that the Nuge was going to absolutely crush all competition and while he has been very good Johnny is now the talk of Ufa.
I still stand by what I said in another thread when I ranked Johnny Hockey the best prospect we have. Still think he has offensive franchise player written all over him. I can see both him and Sven being stars. One can hope.

Weisbrod on the Fan960 about Gaudreau going pro this season:
decision process up to Johnny
only part Flames play is willingness to sign a contract
Flames have a good relationship with Johnny and his Family advisor
thinks Gaudreau knows what he wants and will do his own homework about going pro
says Gaudreau doesn't talk/think about going pro until the year is over (did so at the end of last season and Weisbrod expects him to do the same at the end of this season)
Weisbrod thinks Gaudreau is ready to go pro - HOWEVER - cautions that he doesn't necessarily think that Gaudreau is NHL ready nor is he sure how well Gaudreau will do initially as a professional

when was the last time when we had two - or even one! - prospects we could be this excited about? Crazy. You have to give credit to the scouting staff. Sven at #13 was a no-brainer at that point, but Johnny Hockey already looks like a big steal in the 4th round. Good to see the Flames actually having some great prospects coming through the ranks.
Looking forward to see a #1 line Gaudreau-Jankowski-Baertschi in a few years
Damn, guess he just misses the requirements being born in August.
Well at least Gillies will likely be their stater next year if everything falls into place.
He misses it by quite a bit. He would have to be born in 1994.
I don't know enough about American goaltending and if they have a young guy they might want to put in there but Gilles is likely the front runner right now.
Although he gives the Americans some compliments, Spector's column is more about how bad Canada was.
You can bet if Gaudreau was an Oiler prospect he would have been mentioned. Spector is an Oilers fan so don't expect him to throw any bones the Flames way.
