I work for our fair Mayor as an advisor on policy issues ranging from urban planning and development to transportation, as well as an array of many different issues.

I jump in on a variety of threads on city issues to discuss and answer questions about some of the things going on at the City of Calgary. I thought I'd start this thread for anyone who had any questions or wanted discussion on the Mayor, what his plans are, what's going on with various municipal issues, the election campaign - whatever. I'll try and answer any and all questions to the best of my ability. If I can't find an answer for you, I'll try and find out and reply.

Ah - terrific question. I will only answer campaign-related questions off hours in my own time as volunteer. On the campaign I will again be helping lead the development of the platform.

Can you please provide more detail as to why the city is so reluctant to increase the number of cab licenses?

If you cannot provide a reasonable answer to this, please out the Alderperson / member (s) who are on the take from the various cab companies in the city.

Indeed, we will be releasing the Mayor's Office ethical guidelines for handling everyday work vs. the campaign in the coming months so that people know how we plan on conducting ourselves (as most in the office will be actively volunteering on the campaign as well).

if anything deserves an answer, it's this. does the city not realize that they're actively encouraging people to drink and drive when it's virtually impossible to get a cab on a weekend or holiday?
