Cant think of specific posts or awards but two of my favorite posters are Photon and Textcritic. Thor is up there too.
MMF and Fotze are good for one-liners that are most likely to make me spit out whatever I'm drinking at the moment.
But there are lots of good posters here, I find I learn a lot from everyone.

2012 is over all posts are done so here are my offical votes! I have a memory like a gold fish lately but I'll tr
The Craig Conroy Award for Poster Of The Year - Sureloss for his always on-topic Hockey related posts.
The Doug Risebrough Slashing Marty McSorleys Sweater Viscous ####### Award for the poster most likely to launch a personal attack at the drop of a hat. - Undercoverbrother - no contest - I always picture him posting in a soiled wife beater.
The Rain Man Award to the poster who seems to know something but no one else is sure what it might be. - Most do a pretty good job of simplifying things down for schmoes like me. I have no vote.
The Rod Serling Twight Zone Award to the poster most likely to blame the deficiencies of a Flames player on management, teammates, coaches or anything other than the player. - Really hard when there is no hockey! - Everlast -

I'm not very good at accepting praise, but I'm compelled to respond to this.
I actually hadn't posted a whole lot in 2012, especially the latter half. There've been things piling up that I'd like to post about (news items, things happening outside of Calgary, posts made that should be responded to, etc.) and I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to get to all or any of it. Not sure how much you'll see me in 2013 either.
Anyway, thank you very much for the kind words.
As for the thread topic, there are a lot of quality CP members that bring a lot the table on a wide array of topics and interests. Can't possibly pick one or even ten.

Poster or Post of the year should go to HenrikSedin33 for this gem:

Not at all, as I've said, I would rather start with LA over any of the other WC playoff teams. Bunch of underachievers who look good on paper but don't even deserve to be in the playoffs.
We all know how this will go, we've seen it before. You will give a few reasons why (you hope) LA will beat the Canucks, it won't happen, and you'll move on to why SJ/Chi will beat them, and so on. So predictable, so transparent. If you're going to predict a Canucks loss, at least wait for a team that has a decent shot. Boy who cried wolf.

With the creation of all these awards...this thread of adults is quickly showing similarities with the "everyone is a winner" and "no hurt feelings" mentality in an elementary school...

Gotta post some love for Troutman, succinct logical posting from this guy, and a great music lover to boot.
here's the first 2 posts from the NRA calls for armed guards thread.

In some ways I think... the NRA... a far right gun ownership group and just one more of their crazy ideas.
But then again, its true... if there was an armed security guard at Sandy Hook Elementary, would this tragedy have happened?
