Isn't Misty's long gone? Unless the OP is talking about something different than everyone else here is.

Misty's reminds me of my U 0f C days. Thursdays were amateur night. Saw Gary Roberts and Joe Nieuwendyk there once. They pulled up in an Aucura NSX.

I saw Joe Nieuwendyk playing pool there. He must have been a regular.

The last time I was at Misty's, my buddy threw a loonie at a stripper and hit her tooth and we all got kicked out.

The last time I was in Misty's, I threw a loonie at a stripper doing her floor show, and it actually, um.... sorta just tumbled in. It was quite awkward, if that is even possible at a strip club. Ever since then, I always wash my hands after I touch money.
Also bonus points for the 25 cent draft beer machine in bar next door.

Why aren't there as many strip clubs in Calgary now as there were when the city was half the size it is now?

So many trades technology kills, with sock makers it was the mechanical loom, for peelers x hamster and its ilk, mind you if sock makers knew what we would end up doing to their socks in the new millenium!!

I would have thought it had more to do with the availability of online porn.

My last night at Misty's I remember well, I saw an ad in the sun for Miss Midget Stripper of the year and I thought it would be great. I gathered all my friends and we headed right down there. Worst night EVER, it was the most awkward thing we ever saw and she kept staring at us the whole time since there wasn't too many people there. I felt bad but we actually walked out in the middle of the show.

Reminds me of "The Gentlemens Club" in Great Bend , KS. Me and a couple landmen co workers at one table , a group of 5 or 6 oil field guys at another, and a stray loner at his own table. The dancers would come out into the crowd after they did a set on stage and ask if we wanted to tip them for their dance ( whether or not people came up to the stage during their dance). The awkward part was the first one that came to me an asked i said "No, bc I didn't enjoy the on stage entertainment." It was a pretty awkward situation..

What new rules were that? The only thing that I can think that tightened up rules and had to do with the Olympics was when they changed the rules to shut down Electric Ave. But that was a long time after 88 of course.

I dumped my old girlfriend there. She had heard through the grapevine me and my buddies were going to be there that night. It was pretty much heading all downhill and already over at that point, but inside Misty's, I made it official. It was something like less than a week before her birthday too.

Only time was in there was when I worked as a rep and had to cover the usual rep, and meet the F&B guy at the Westgate. The company I worked for had sp,e promo they wanted to run at the bar in the stand alone building (it was numerous names over a couple year, may have been the Honky Tonk Saloon) at the south end of the parking lot just at the bend in Bow Trail.
I got directed to Misty's...he was on the mic, calling out the strippers. This was a Wednesday at 3pm and there were 2 patrons in there.
Found out after, the guy was part of Stampede Wrestling and is still kicking around doing various things with bars and with wrestling in the city.
