Lame.
No reason Vancouver should get it again. I would've been a lot less angry if Winnipeg beat us.
O'well. I don't think we're going to fall out of the world group any time soon so hopefully we'll get the next home tie.

Davis Cup tickets have skyrocketed! I wish Winnipeg would have won now! You can no longer buy individual day tickets and only weekend passes. Tickets start at 200 and go to around 540. This is 50% increase over last years pricing.
I am on the presale list if they decide to have one and will post the password for you guys if I get it

Hey Fundmark,
I'm not sure where you are getting your info from. On the ticketmaster website they have each day listed along with a weekend package.
Prices for individual days are $30.24 - $196.00 according to the website.
Presale is set to go this Friday November 30th, but it looks like that is only for the weekend package at $534.60.

I got info from Tennis Canada here is email below I have removed his email address for privacy.
Good morning and thanks for your email.
Based on demand, prices have increased for this Davis Cup tie vs. Spain. Tickets are only being sold by the package (all three days) not by the day, and the prices will not drop later.
As you may know, all tickets will be sold through Ticketmaster for this event, with the public sale date set as Monday, December 3rd, 10:00am PT.
That said, we are anticipating a presale (not 100% confirmed) to interested members that will go live as early as November 30th if it were to happen.
Therefore I have added your name and email address to the list of interested members and should a presale occur, you will be amongst the first to know. Otherwise, your best bet is to log in to Ticketmaster at 10:00am, December 3rd to make your purchase.
I hope this helps ! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
All the best,
- Brandon

I then asked how they plan on fighting scalpers and this is the response
Yes, we are doing everything we can to reduce the number of scalpers who can get their hands on tickets. Therefore, we are only selling the weekend passes (same seat for Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and limiting the sale to 4 passes per person.
Glad to hear you’re looking forward to it once again – it’s going to be a blast!
Best of luck ,
- Brandon

Interesting stuff. I think the two companies need to speak with each other to figure things out. It makes no sense for ticketmaster to be posting individual day when they wont be offered.
Thanks for the info, are you planning on heading out this year?

Yup as long as we can get tickets. Have it booked off from work. We might skip most of the Sunday unless Canada has a chance to win so we can watch superbowl.
Are you going to make the trek

Well looks like ticketmaster is correct and I was lied to by Tennis Canada. I do have the presale password so anyone who is interested please send me a pm. Also email says that 3 day packages start at $60.00
Davis Cup is coming back to Vancouver! From Feb 1-3 Canada will take on Spain in Davis Cup action at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre at UBC. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Monday, December 3 at 10am, but as a keen tennis fan you can access to a limited number of 3-day packages during the PRE-SALE from 10am Friday, November 30 to 11:59 pm Saturday, December 1. Only the 3-day packages are available during the pre-sale. A maximum of 4 packages (12 tickets in total) may be purchased per order. Single session tickets will be available starting Monday, December 3.
Below is a link with more information and a PROMO CODE that must be used when ordering.

I sent another email and it looks like 1/3 of tickets were released for presale. So there should be 4000 tickets left on Monday for those who missed out

This doesn't happen often: Jesse Levine has decided to play for Canada. He was born in Ontario and moved to the US as a teen. Although he's currently ranked 104th in the world, he was ranked as high as 69th earlier this year. I remember him well from the US Open because he made it to the third round in September.

Sounds like Nadal and Ferrer won't be playing for Spain in February. While it's disappointing for those going to the Davis Cup, it definitely helps out Canada. Almagro might be out too.

no Rafa for Aussie either? because of the stomach flu? the first matches are 2.5 weeks away still. I detect some shenanigans in the background.

I wonder if Sportnet is embarrassed they are running Nadal V Raonic ad now and if they pull them off the air?
I still think there is a chance that Nadal can make it there. He just has a stomach bug and I think Spain have little respect for Canada so they might treat it like practice. Whats the word on Ferrer?

After his exhibition match against Djokovic today, he mentioned he wanted the time off instead and that this year's Davis Cup took a lot out of him.
