Taylor replaces Brust for the third. 3-0 Grand Rapids just about half way through the period.

Awful game for Brust. The team has little or no push back, either.
I expect Taylor will start next game.

The team needs someone to step up offensively or it won't matter who is in net. Last year the guy would have been Kolanos but this year he has been disappointing. Hopefully they don't just wait for Sven to come back or the slide will continue into the new year.

Edit: 5-1 final Tuzzolino with his first of the season in his second game since the call up

Yeah, rough game to stay up till 3am for. Too bad, but at least I got to speak with some family over the phone during the third. Happy Christmas CP, and safe and restful holidays to you and yours (I only really care about people that read the back burner forum!).

I did a quick google search on Sven Bartschi and wasn't really able to get an update on where he is at in terms or recovery. Does anybody have the latest on him?

I think they'll keep things quiet with his progress. I've been in the mindset that no news is good news. My guess is they'll keep him out till early January probably at least a week more. They are taking a cautious approach but if the Heat continue struggling offensively they might try and speed up his recovery.

Heat recalled Eddy today. Didn't stay in Utah for long.

I actually saw Sven in the Portland airport on my way back to Calgary via Vancouver, and he's hoping to be in the lineup this weekend, or early next week.... He said after a month of doing nothing he is getting bored and just wants to play

Another Heat game added to the Sportsnet schedule. They'll be broadcasting the Heat vs. Wolves game at the AESC on Saturday, January 12.

Sweet the Heat needs Sven's offensive talent back soon.

The Heat lost 2-1 in the shootout this afternoon to the Peoria Rivermen.

Kolanos scored (again) with the assists going to Street and Brodie. Byron was the only player to score in the SO for the Heat.

F'n Heat. Really having a tough go for a while now.

Marlies have blown by them, and they have started to fall into the pack. Keep this up much longer and making the playoffs may become a concern.

Only 4 points up on the ninth place Amerks/Monsters.

Amazing what one player out of a lineup can do for an offence and points.

Yeah they miss Sven but my own feeling is that this team isn't physical enough and it's catching up to them. I see the same happening to the Flames if they ever play.

Continuing with the Baertschi update regarding his return:

Quite possible, but not a certainty, that he's back in this weekend. I would expect so, though.
