No I see the difference. I shouldn't have said weird. Maybe Amusing was a better word.

This illustrates my problem with c concealed weapons:
Quote:
New video released by Albuquerque police shows the dangerous fight between two veterans over an anti-Obama bumper sticker.
Police arrested Chris Williams, 43, after they said he held another man at gunpoint.
The lapel camera captured the moment when the officer came face to face with Williams. The officer can be heard ordering Williams to "Drop the gun."
The video then shows Williams with his hands in the air, and the victim still on the ground. The victim was a 62-year-old Vietnam veteran.
|
Quote:
But Williams told police, he told the victim to "get out of his face", and claimed the victim ignored him. The two began to argue. It escalated to the victim ending up on his knees, with his hands up, and Williams allegedly holding the gun to the back of the his head.

Like really? An argument about a political sticker turns into a gun fight? Seems like a pretty strong escalation for a very minor disagreement.

If I'm packing and I get angry, I always have the trump card. What if the other guy had a fun? Now they are both worried about their lives And will want to protect it at all costs

"I don't want to die for a lack of shooting back."
That's a line from the early 90's movie "Unforgiven," when a bunch of deputies are loading their guns for an upcoming fight and one particularly nervous guy among them is preparing all sorts of different weaponry.
Unfortunately, that single line of dialogue is the reality for those school kids and the firefighters as well as the entire justification argument from the NRA.

That explains why the US flag is humping the German flag....

Lets not forget that if we're being honest with ourselves, it was the Russians that won the European WW2.

Maybe, the Russian offensive and destruction of the key German armies had a great effect on the European battles, but you could also argue that British and later American air power was just as large of a factor, and the fact that Hitler was forced to pull a lot of his veteran units out of Russia to defend fortress Europe in Italy and Western Europe.
Saying that the Russian's won the European war is over simplification.
You could in theory say that crippling diarrhea and parasites won the war in Russia for the Russians, and the crippling cold, and autumn mud and Hitlers stupidity at splitting his army into three.
The Russians' fought a great second half of the war aided by an American engineer that gave them the transmission for the T-34 tank, but the allies opening multiple fronts and the D-Day and post D-Day invasion had a significant effect on the Russian invasion.
On even turf with better Luftwaffe support and not using sub par German Allied troops to protect Germany's flanks in Stalingrad and I think General Paulus blunts Zhukov's encirclement at Stalingrad and saves his army in place.
The difference between Germany finishing off Russia and Russia finishing off Germany was pretty slight.

Personally I am of the opinion we couldn't win the war without Russia where as they would have won the war with or without us. Undoubtedly they were helped enourmassly by our air campaign and second fronts but I think even without these over the space of an extra year or so Stalin would have ground the Germans down and beaten them.

Canadians should act superior because we are superior to the Americans. I'd love for an American to argue that America is better than Canada.
Maybe a little arrogance in their face will maybe, just maybe, wake them up and they'll start caring about their people first instead of the people in other countries.
I'm sick of hearing how America is the best country in the world when they aren't even top 5. Canada is so much better and we should be proud of that. We've had to listen and watch Americans stick their nose up at us for way too long. Canada is better and even an American knows that is true.
There is almost nothing I could say that Canada needs to change (Maybe the justice system, but that's another story)
Hopefully America follows in our footsteps and can be a great country too.
God bless Canada, The greatest country in North America and one of the greatest countries in the world.

Depends, if the Luftwaffe would have been more or less intact its likely that they would have had better air intelligence and seen Zhukov's two army groups massing for Operation Uranus. If they had seen it they would have likely escaped the pincher and the 6th army, one of Germany's best army formation would have remained in the field and fought a retreat through Russia and back to Germany.
The Russian's wouldn't have been fighting depleted armies filled out with old men and the boys of the Hitler Youth.
Your probably right Russia would have eventually won since Germany was losing territory in the West and their ability to recruit, they had also lost most of their industrial might due to allied bombing.
I remember attending a seminar in the States that had a old man who was a Russian officer from WW2 after the wall fell, he had the upmost respect for the men of the German Wehrmacht, he stated that not only were they tough, but even on the steppes of Berlin they didn't panic.
If the 6th army had stayed in the field and with the allies approaching from the West the German initiative would have been to hold the Russian's outside of Berlin and surrendered to the allies. It might have been just as likely that the German's would have slowed the Russian's down to a crawl.
Interestingly enough if the plot to kill Hitler had succeeded it would have been likely that the German's would have surrendered and they would have asked for the allies help to stop the Russian's from entering Berlin through diplomacy or force.
I don't believe that the Russians' would have won the war without the allies 2nd and third front and the bombing campaigns that killed German's war time industry.
