Default Help me with my optimal TV/Internet bundle

Ok, so I cancelled my cable when the NHL lockout was announced. Now I'm looking to get it back but want the best/least expensive service possible. So who's the best bang for the buck? I'm not very tech savvy but basic needs are:

- Fast internet - I have shaw extreme high-speed now. Its great when it works, but it seems to drop semi-often and sometimes my DLing rates aren't even close to what they're supposed to be.

- Sports channels - The ONLY thing I use cable for is sports. If there was a way to only by sports channels and maybe a news channel or two I would be all over it. Outside of that my TV can be as basic as basic can be.

Bonus:

HD and PVR would be nice. I've never had HD cable but I would like to have it. The thing is if its going to jack up my price huge than its not something I really need. Same with the PVR.

I'm not adverse to sticking with Shaw if that turns out to be the best option, but if thats the case I was hoping someone could give me the proper lingo to use when I call them and bitch about how my internet isnt as fast as it should be according to my bills.

Thanks for any and all help!

Shaw's website isn't the best, I would just call and talk to one of the sales people, they can usually work out a bundle for you. You can order basic cable and then add on the sports package, I think it's $10 extra? Then bundle it with Shaw 50 internet.

As for the internet, you don't need any fancy lingo, just tell them that your connection is bad. They sent a tech out to my place, he changed out an old cable and upgraded the modem and that vastly improved the speeds. If that didn't work he also had some sort of booster unit (which he forgot to take when he left) ready.

According to my bill you should be able to get "Personal TV" and "Broadband 50" for $89.90, that includes a bunch of HD channels.

Yeah, Jacks has the right idea.

Personal TV will get you Sportsnet West, Sportsnet One, TSN, CBC, and CTV all in HD which is all you should really need for sports.
