Less than four years after the Jets made a franchise-changing decision to move up in the draft for Mark Sanchez, they will attempt to trade the struggling quarterback after the season

More from the same article:

Quote:
The News has learned that Michael Vick, who is expected to be released by the Eagles shortly after the season, would be amenable to coming to the Jets if Sanchez is out of the equation.

“Bring it on,” one Jets source said about signing Vick if he becomes available. “He was hit too many times (behind a subpar offensive line) the last two years.”

Rex Ryan may be the X-factor to landing Vick, according to sources. Ryan has always had an affinity for Vick, who could potentially help save the coach from getting his walking papers after the 2013 season.

“(Ryan) loves him,” a team official said.

Vick will probably end up being a better option than Tebow or Sanchez, but he's not gonna put the Jets over the hump. That being said, is there even a market for Sanchez? The QB-needy teams in the NFL are the Jets, Cards, Eagles, Chiefs, Vikings, Browns, Jags, and Raiders. I don't think he's an upgrade over Kolb or Palmer. The Browns and Eagles are likely going to ride out another year of Foles and Weeden. If the Jags trade for anyone, it'll be Tebow. I suppose the Vikings would make sense if they decide that Ponder isn't the guy, but it would make way more sense for them to go after Vick than Sanchez. And I think the Chiefs are going to look to the draft for QB help.

Nobody is going to want to give up more than 4th or 5th round pick for a backup QB with that kind of contract, and why would Sanchez re-negotiate to go sit on a bench? He's got a whack of guaranteed money coming his way. I think the Jets are screwed. That was the worst extension that I remember ever being given to a player.

So, looking at the games this week, if I'm a Vikings fan I'd be cheering for a San Francisco win. The Niners clinch the #2 seed with a win, leaving Green Bay as the de facto #3, which would likely mean a game against the Packers' second-stringers next week. That's assuming Minnesota can take care of business in Houston (which is obviously a huge if).

For the rest of us who like good football, we should be cheering for Minnesota/Detroit, Seattle, and NY Giants wins, as this combination leaves us with the fewest "exhibition" games in week 17.

Take the two hour drive to Philly and catch Eagles/Redskins? I know the Eagles are terrible, but at least you'd get to watch RGIII.

I think CLE has a puncher's chance to upset DEN. Bad weather and turn-overs will be necessary.

It is expected to be sunny on Sunday, high of 9 C:

I won't have a car. We are in new york for 2 days before our cruise on christmas eve and 2 days after. I will be doing sightseeing with the family and I can't convince anyone to come to the game with me so I might just go alone. I have never seen NFL live

Do it just to see the stadium. I was at Metlife earlier this year. It's gorgeous

Oh man. Pretty excited for the game tonight. If the Falcons win, they clinch homefield advantage and the bye.

...But they also have to try and stop Megatron from getting that record.

They can still have him get the record and easily get the win.

He has been putting up 150+ receiving yards and watching the Lions defense loss games all year long.

Ugh. I think this is the beginning of the end for ol' Michael Turner. He was once a dominant rusher in the NFL. Now the whole Falcons running game is garbage.

Was just about to post how frustrating it is that Ryan never goes deep... then he does.

I would like the Lions to lose with Johnson getting about 250 yards. Looks like that may happen.
