Just a reminder that if you're buying a case because you're afraid of damage (not of wear), Applecare+ purchased for $99 within 30 days of the phone purchase carries a $49 deductible for accidental damage replacement.

So if you do drop the shiny and break it, Apple will give you a new one for the same price as a fancy case (or a bit more). It could also be used to, um, refresh your device at the end of the 2 year period I suppose, depending on how much karma you have to burn.

Glasses are hardly secured tightly to ones face, that is unless your talking sports goggles.

You misunderstood what i was trying to say. I was saying that spending $90 or $3 is not going to matter if you are not careful with your $800 Phone. As great as a otterbox is an iPhone5 skipping across the pavement is never a good thing.

$90? You can get this one for $49.99 and never have to worry about whether or not your $800 iPhone does go skipping across the pavement. Or sliding down a frozen drainage system. Or bouncing off a concrete wall onto a concrete floor. Or skipping across a concrete floor, slamming into a metal desk along the way. Or being thrown through a wall...

Can anyone recommend a nice leather holster-style case for an iPhone 5? I had one made by Belkin for my 3GS that I really like, but they don't seem to make anything like it anymore. I'm looking for something that covers the phone fairly completely when closed and holds it vertically with a belt clip.

Possibly not the most protective case but I don't care, classic photo of the holy trinity of west ham football from 1965 or so, I picked it up for 8 bucks on ebay.

If you must know, I use that style of case to hang my phone off my pocket. I hate having it mixed in with other stuff like keys. Alternatively, I'd be open to a simple leather sleeve. I just don't like big bumper cases or whatever else that make the phone all big and crappy. Also, I'd prefer to get it locally so I don't potentially have to wait until January.

It's alright, I secretly liked those fanny packs when they were popular, and was sad when they became ridicule worthy. I was willing to be unfashionable, but not laughed at on the subway platform.
