Not really,

The interface is different but thats about it.

I'm hoping it will improve battery life but I doubt it...

I also have an issue where my phone will randomly reset itself.

Hopefully this will be fixed as well otherwise it back to Telus for a repair/replacement.

One thing I noticed on the battery consumption thing is that when I was on ICS, far and away the biggest user of the battery was "Android System". Now on JB the biggest is always "Screen" followed by a bunch of things that make sense due to the amount I used them.

I'm not sure if that means I am getting better battery life or if it is just a change in the structure of JB.

Android System being the main battery drain probably meant that your phone was awake doing random things in the background. Only way of knowing if you're getting better battery life is comparing the screen time if your usage is the same between ICS and JB

Does anyone else have this "Mediaserver" program eating up their battery? Upgraded to JB on the weekend, so I am not sure if it's related to that but it says it's using 32% of my battery. Restarted the phone and tried with and without a USB cable to power the phone. It barely even appears to be charging the phone over USB.

2 more weeks until I can finally toss out the old iPhone 3GS & get the Samsung S3, I can't F'n wait.

...I also can't wait to hear Bell's ridiculous excuse as to after me hitting the 2 year point in my 3 year contract, why they're still going to charge me a $200 fee for "breaking my contract" on the upgrade/renewal. I'm fully expecting it, greedy pigs.

Do you have the Score Mobile app on your device?

I was having Battery Life issues and my phone was crashing the first week I had it. Got rid of the Score Mobile app and it has been fine ever since.

...don't pay that. If they insist, I'd look at just picking up an unlocked S3 somewhere.

You can find S3s in condition for around $400. I'd pay that instead of paying them $200 for the privilege of signing a new 3 year contract.

Oh I won't, don't worry. I know for a fact that Bell has let other people I know upgrade for free after 2 years on a 3 year deal renewal in the past, I don't know why they're being so dumb with me about it whenever I've inquired in the past few months.

At this point I'm assuming to break my contract entirely would be about the same price, so if they really want to lose a potential lifelong customer over something so petty, I'll just pay out $200 to kill my contract and get the S3 with Rogers.

Either way I'm getting that phone in January, its up to them if its with Bell or their competitors.

If you're waiting until January, I'd consider waiting for the S4.

I know this is probably all rumour, but the rumours are pretty cool:

Edit: Looks like latest rumours are that the S4 won't have an unbreakable screen. It is expected in Feb/Mar though.

Haha ya, that's definitely the one drawback to waiting so long, by the time I get it we'll only be a few months away from the S4. It's a good point.

Just ever since losing my S1 in May, I've been using my sister's old, beat up iPhone 3GS while I wait to hit the 2 year contract mark. The things such a POS, silent mode doesn't even work anymore. I don't think I can even wait another 8 months or whatever with it, hence why I'll probably just get the S3.

Actually another reason why I'm so antsy is I'm dying to play the recently released GTA: Vice City on it (no way my current phone could handle it). Anyone DL'd it yet & have feedback? So much nostalgia (of playing the game 10 years ago I mean), basically every dump I take the rest of the winter will involve playing Vice City once I get it.

EDIT: Just saw that last part of your post, of it coming out in Feb/Mar. I just assumed it'd be September or something. Thanks for the heads up, I may just wait it out after all if thats the case..

Late to the party but finally got the S3, pretty excited about it.

One question though, and this has probably been asked before, but a search revealed nothing; since Adobe apparently pulled Flash Player from the App Store, what flash player would you guys recommend? (or alternatively, is there another way to get Adobe Flash Player?).

Thanks if you can help, the built-in one for Firefox is 1990's worthy.

Flexible means soft, and soft means incredibly scratchable. There are definite tradeoffs to the technology.

This is only really true of traditional plastic screens. The new technology will use a plastic or glass substrate screen, which will be fairly resistent to scratches.

And the current rumours are that the S4 will indeed have the unbreakable screen.
