Thanks Endaevor. I am unable to get time to update things while at work. So it's appreciated. I have all the time in the world once I finish work though.

Some tips for team Finland if you're looking for someone to pick on the later rounds: forward Artturi Lehkonen and defenseman Olli Määttä. Lehkonen is young which is always something to keep in mind when you're doing a pool, but he can be dynamic.
Markus Granlund was point per game last year, but his progress has been questioned. Miikka Salomäki isn't necessarily a big scorer but he'll likely be used to solidify the top-6, which will mean points. Next year's draft pick Rasmus Ristolainen might be the second PP defenseman with Määttä.

Regardless, the point of the pool I believe is not to pick the best players, but to get the most points. And as good as Jones is (I am hoping he somehow falls to us in June), I doubt very much that he leads defensemen in points in the tourney.
For what it's worth, he has 5 more points than Wotherspoon, having played 2 more games. And fewer points than Pouliot, who could not earn a spot on the Cdn team.

I'm going to say that season stats get pretty much thrown out the window in a short tournament like this. My guess is Jones will be getting more minutes than almost any other player in the tournament. First line PP and PK.

Jones is a very good defender but let's not forget that he is only 17, there are players in this tournament that have 2 years of development on him, which can be significant. Jones is a special player, and I think he was picked right around where he should be taking into account that goalies and forwards are usually taken in the first 2 rounds.

You may be right, we'll see. But the US defense is pretty much as deep as Canada's IMO, so I don't see that happening. But that's what makes this tourney so awesome.

I'll take another Finnish player, Aleksander Barkov (Does he have Russian parents or something, that name sounds more Russian than Finnish?).

Injuries/Cuts:
If one of the players you picked either gets cut or hurt during the preliminary round you are allowed to use 1 replacement. Once the official tournament gets underway on boxing day you are stuck with what you got.

How will that work? Is there an emergency draft on x-mas eve? or is it free for all?

Well I am guessing the chances of it happening to more then one or 2 people are slim, so I guess it will just go in the regular draft order.

Need some Canadian flavor in my lineup, so I am going with Brett Ritchie.
