Default Instragram now reserves the right to sell your photos

and give you nothing in return

http://news.cnet.com/8301-13578_3-57...l-your-photos/

i never got the hype around this service to begin with. quite glad i avoided it now

It would be so funny to see Instagram's subscribers drop by 90% on January 15.

Where will artless people get sepia-tone photos of empty chairs at sunset now?

How to download your download your Instagram photos and KILL your account:

http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2012/...t/?cid=4991924

I'll be doing this later tonight. I've only used Instagram to post a few pictures. Mostly view others.

Yeah, there aren't many people selling oversaturated shots of their lunch, so this isn't a big deal. I believe Facebook (which owns Instagram) already has something similar in their TOS, and people upload more photos there than anywhere else.

They're a free photo-sharing site trying to monetize. I'd say it's a fair trade-off.

Could somebody explain what purpose Instagram serves? What does it do that your stock mobile phone camera application doesn't do?

Effortlessly applies color filters and weathering to make every ironic 80s party look like it actually happened in the 80s.

Well for starters cell phone pictures are usually pretty boring, so instagram allows you to just make them slightly less boring by adding filters to them. Then it's a picture sharing application.

I'm not a huge fan of it, I use it but the hate it gets is pretty hilarious.

I thought you could do all of that jazz on a smartphone anyway? Maybe not effortlessly, but on my HTC it is just a button in the upper corner of the screen labelled, "effects".

But does it have Facebook integration that says UPLOADED VIA INSTAGRAM(TM)?

I didn't think so.

Facebook can go ahead and use my ####ty photos. I'd laugh if anyone was stupid enough to use anything I've done to "advertise" something.

This is all the more reason to exclusively upload pictures of your dick to Instagram. Fight the power!

Calm down people. You didn't pay the service, therefore you have nothing to complain about... I personally would be thrilled if Instagram used one of my pictures. I never expected to make money off of them anyways, now they're just exposing my 'professional' (lol) picture to the masses.

Besides, REAL photographers and digital artists likely don't even use Instagram, it's equivalent to Rebecca Black in the music world.

Just start watermarking pics with swear words to prevent anybody from using them... unless they are advertising the effectiveness of watermarking pics to prevent unauthorized use.
