I generally go to autotrader.ca and scour all the vehicles in my price range and usually look at prices provincially. you can usually get a good read on what the average price is and what kind of deals you can get. Balancing KM's versus cost and looking at maintenance history usually helps you from buying a lemon. When its come to used car, you can usually get 2-3k off the price if your willing to shop around and spend a day or two making a sound decision. Probably already know all of this but I thought i'd put it out there anyways.

Just act like a nice guy but be informed of the Car Cost Canada report and such. Go in, learn as much as you can about the car and see if it's right for you, then when it comes to deal-time, you know if you're dealing with a good salesperson or not.

Buying a car now is pretty easy and straight-forward.
