Awaiting Dave Mustaine claiming Obama is behind this to get tighter gun control.

How about. "This is the same predictable crap." When the hell are they going to get a clue about gun control down there?"

Meant to be sarcastic, however I can see why it may seem inappropriate, I will edit it out.

I never said it's an over reaction, it just makes me sad.

If this doesn't get gun control, nothing ever will. I hate to say it but it literally takes something this horrific, namely potentially two dozen dead children under 10 to wake America the #### up. If it doesn't come after this, it never will.

This is absolutely terrible...I don't understand how someone could kill a bunch of defenceless children. These shootings are happening far too frequently, once is too often. Something needs to be done. My heart goes out to the families.

Simplistic question - How come you don't see the same frequency of this in Canada, Australia or the UK? What is it about American society that breeds lunatics? It has to be deeper than just gun control.

I think the saddest thing about this is the "if the teacher(s) was packing this could have been avoided" argument.

I really hope this is the beginning of HARSH gun control measures south of the border. It is being proven on a seemingly daily basis, that America cannot handle an open gun market.

IMO it's just that there's simply more of a culture of guns and violence in the US when compared to those other countries. It's not even really an issue of access to guns, as it sounds like this was done with guns that someone could pretty easily get in Canada.

What the hell is wrong with people?
What causes someone to kill 27 innocent lives?

My son is in Kindergarten here in Calgary, and I simply cannot imagine what the families of that town must be going through. I don't have any answers, but something has to be done to stop this from happening.
