The Big East has been dead for a while now, this is the best possible news for the survivors.
Don't think it's good news for Cincinnati and certainly not UConn.
Also what? How long is a while? Months right? You certainly can't mean any longer than that. 8 teams in the tournament can't be a dead conference.
My guess is that Myck won't change much. The team is way more broken than just him.
Not really. They aren't contenders but with Myck they are a top 30 team in the country. For example the UCLA game they had in the bag until Felix (Freshman PG) wasted 4 possessions in a row in the last 2 minutes. Kabongo is the best player on the team and the leader. He would have definitely changed the way a couple of those games went. When you have a team that is all freshman and sophmores it tends to get better as the season goes on. This team with Kabongo can make the tourney and from there who knows what can happen.
If they don't then do you still want Rick Barnes as a coach? Seems like the fan base is really split on him.
Well if Julius Randle and Keith Frazier commit to UT then we have to keep him. However, if he misses out on those recruits then we will probably look elsewhere. Most UT fans don't remember the Pre-Barnes era. I appreciate what he has done for the program. I would have to see who they plan on replacing him with, but I don't think there is a lot out there right now.

The writing has been on the wall for years, it was just a matter of time. Both Cincinnati and UConn have decent football programs that will allow them to join another conference.

Agreed wouldn't be surprised to see Cincy in another major conference by next year. Uconn might have to settle for a lesser conference.
Now being reported that UConn and Cincy are forming the Big East again, but only til they get open bids to the ACC for FSU and Clemson bolting to Big 12. We'll see what happens I guess.

Butler-Indiana was a great game. Best I've seen all year. Brad gives the ball to a walk-on, who scored 2 points all of last year, in OT against the #1 team in the country. What a great move. Love Brad. What a great coach.
My 4-5 WVU team is one of the top 5 most disappointing teams in the country. Today we lost to Michigan (great team) by 15. Kilicli played 9 minutes and we were outscored by 18 points with him in. Pretty telling. Huggins post-game press conference... Very telling.

I'm sick of watching guys stand around. I'm sick of watching miss shot after shot after shot but never coming early, never staying late. Never think of coming in on an off day.

Deniz hasn't finished anything around the rim and we aren't playing him for his defensive ability... Obviously.
Also Aaric Murray didn't make the trip with the team.

I've left guys at home way waaay waaaaaaay better than Aaric Murray.

Did we miss him? I don't so. I don't think we did.
Jim Boeheim won his 900th collegiate game tonight as his kids beat Detroit 72-68. Its also the most wins by any coach at one school, and he becomes 2nd fastest coach to 900 wins in Division I history (1,204 games). It took Mike Krzyzewski 1,183 games. Mike Krzyzewski (936) and Bob Knight (902) only have more wins as coaches. Congrats to a true legend!
Myck Kabongo is suspended for the year. Now that we have that out of the way. Texas can stop worrying about it. They actually learned how to play last night against UNC. If they can play like that then they will be good to go in the Big 12 which is wide open except KU.
Surprised this hasn't been mentioned (since its been like 18 hours since he announced) but Jabari Parker is going to Duke. My Canadian homerism of course makes me say Andrew Wiggins is the better player, but Parker reminds me of Carmelo, very smooth offensive game and at the college level anyway can play anywhere from 1-4. Hopefully Wiggins chooses FSU so we can see those two have some battles next year.

Suspension reduced to 23 games (including 11 already served), he'll be back Feb 13rd.

I think Wiggins should pick Wichita State so he can play with his brother. Just sayin'

Looking forward to the WVU/Texas game tomorrow. WVU is looking bound for the NIT and really needs a good win. Interesting matchup with WVU and Texas because of how WVU looks after the ball and how Texas doesn't steal it that much and with WVU's awful FG% and Texas' fantastic defensive FG%. I bet WVU looks to run early. In a slow game WVU might not break 55.
Hoping we can do what we did in week 5 of football.
I don't think this will be Wyoming's only loss in the Mountain West, but that is still an impressive win for Boise. Couple that with a convincing win in Omaha against Creighton and they're building a nice resume.
Wichita State is way better than I ever thought they'd be. 15-1 and the bulk of that missing 3 starters. Gregg Marshall, quite simply, is one of the best coaches in the NCAA. I thought it was the end when Mark Turgeon left for Texas A&M. Turgeon is a good coach but Marshall is sooooo much better. This was supposed to be a rebuilding year.
