Default Filed Firmly Under Horrific - Passed Out Teen At House Party Set On Fire

Drunk B.C. teen set ablaze, filmed after passing out at party

Quote:
A teenager has been severely burned in Kelowna, B.C., after his clothes were set aflame, and Mounties worry that a suspect may have staged similar attacks in the past.

RCMP Const. Kris Clark says the 18-year-old victim is being treated for second and third degree burns after falling asleep on the kitchen floor at house party in the Okanagan city on Dec. 8.

I have to confess, that in the past I have take steps to avoid this happening by pre-emptive pissing.

These are the types of people that need to be locked up without parole. Pure psychopaths. I don't believe you can truly rehabilitate people like this.

Not to condone the perps of this act, but odds are they were as lit up as the passed out guy. Alcohol + Normal People = Stupid Acts. Alcohol + Grade A Morons = Look the eff out.

I don't know, man. I have a long and illustrious history of getting drunk and acting like a complete ######, but I don't think I've ever gotten "let's set another human being on fire" wasted. There's also the disturbing bit at the beginning of the article about how this may not be the first time one of these guys has done this.

Don't forget the alcohol in the guys blood. If he got third degree burns, that most certainly doesn't help.

So playing devil's advocate here.

When I was younger, I had a thing for fire and would light things like the fuzz on my socks or jeans, or a pizza box in the basement. You know, little things.

If I was a drunk teenager, I might also think it was funny to do the same to some fool who had passed out. In that circumstance, if the flames got out of control, the guy could be pretty seriously burned, simply as a result of a small prank that went awry.

That said, these guys used the booze as an accelerant, and then lit the guy on fire, so it is obviously not the same situation as what I am talking about.

Yeah but you'd probably fall into the normal people equation. These guys probably aren't psychotic, they probably just thought "Duh, lets set his clothes on fire, it'll only burn his clothes right?". "Yeah buddy! We're not setting his skin on fire, he'll be safe".

I'd wager their combined IQ is in the low 60's. Personally I never do things to people when drunk cause karma is a bitch.

This is different in kind, not degree.

Normal people would NEVER do this. We're not talking about rioting and looting (things done out of emotion, greed, and stupidity); this is pure psychopathy.

Being drunk is no excuse for anything.

Ever tried to light a beer on fire? And that's 5% alcohol.
If this guy's blood was flamible, being on fire is the least of his problems.

Pouring an accelerant onto someone's body and lighting it on fire while filming it, falls under the definition psychotic to me.

No doubt. I got in quite the argument about that in the thread about one of the Flames prospects getting arrested for assault while drunk. I'm more trying to find an explanation for idiocy. Something like this doesn't strike me as psychopathic because if they wanted to hurt him, they could have obviously done much, much worse.

If he put a fuel on the passed out guy and then lit him on fire that could be attempted murder. Huge difference between screwing around like an idiot and purposefully trying to harm someone

Killing someone in general is far less psychopathic than this act.

Psychopathy is not about what someone does, but how they do it. Pouring booze on an unconscious person and lighting them on fire is 10/10 psychopathic.

Mathew Sweet-Grant has been charged with aggravated assault for allegedly setting a sleeping teen on fire at a party in Kelowna, B.C. (Facebook)

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/britis...k-assault.html

The man was lying on the kitchen floor in a motel when a liquid accelerant was poured on him and then lit on fire, police said. The incident was filmed.

And planned/ready to film it too I guess.

There's an album on his FB page titled "stoned pyro boys" with some interesting photos:
