Sounds like he's just playing the political game. Maybe sleazy, but not necessarily fraudulent. And as far as sleazy goes, it's very possible, but I have to take what you are saying with a grain of salt because it's just one side of the story with little information or facts, as you're being vague on purpose while you make your decision.

More than anything, I'd think about how any action along that vein of thinking may affect you. Even if everything you say is absolutely correct, it doesn't add up to much more than mudslinging unless you've got something really juicy and have proof to back it up. If he's as 'phoney' as you say, he'll knock down anything you say against him as vicious rumour, slander, unsubstantiated claims, and throw it right back at you.

And yeah, as you described it, it does sound a little high school. Even if he is phoney and opportunistic, wouldn't it be better to attack him on issues and substance?

How exactly is voting against something, and then complaining that it was passed fraud?

This has to be one of the weirdest threads on Cpuck ever.

I'm political, but I'm not a politician. I know there are people who post on here who are tied to parties, but in my opinion that's all fair and game. I don't think these people are elected officials.

But If I'm a politician the last thing I would do is air dirty laundry on a public message board. Heck the first thing I would do is delete my account and scrub any posting that I had made that could be misinterpreted or taken out of context. I know some of the discussions can be pretty hot on the board and pretty ideological. I'm sure people have said things in an argument on here that makes sense in this context, but wouldn't make any sense in an offline conversation.

I just want to say that I know Money Guy and he's a good guy. I don't know the specifics of this situation at all, and politically I don't have any connection with him or anything, but he is a smart guy. I can't say I would totally trust his judgement because he is an Eskimos and Oiler fan, but other than that he seems like a well reasoned guy!

My impression is that he was probably frustrated watching this all take place and both wanted to vent a little and get an outside perspective.

I totally agree.

Unfortunately, there really is nothing that can be done, short of doing what many politicans (and politically involved people) do, which is essentially start mud-slinging. I kind of get the impression that that's the kind of thing that Moneyguy would like to avoid.

I've been watching this flake in action and seeing his fans go all nuts and falling for his charade. He's a phony, plain and simple. My theory is that he votes a certain way just to win favour, looking at an issue where he knows the vote will go one way and taking the opposite point of view merely to win political favour from an ignorant, unsuspecting public. Yes, it is frustrating.
