I may get home and use that build I mentioned above to troll with AP Soraka, haha. It may actually be viable.

The new jungle ain't as bad as I thought it would be. I really don't think people's playstyles with regard to ganking won't change very much.

^ ^ It is very hard to pull off early ganks like you used to without boots. I am not really sold on it yet.

BTW Liandry's on Swain is just insane. Don't even bother with the Rylais, but use it for single target burst, finish it right after RoA.

Liandry's on fizz works very well too, and while you're rushing that you may as well enjoy the little boost in AA damage from the spellblade talent.

I still wouldn't buy it. On an unrelated note, I see some item nerfs coming real soon. I played a couple matches last night as an adc and the Hurricane is absolutely ridiculous.

I just got my first penta kill...

As Swain, with only a RoA and Liandry's.

That's great. The nice thing is you don't have to build the same items as everyone else. I've gotten a couple pentas as Swain without either of those. It all comes down to your play style.

So about the new Jungle - a lot of people are pretty upset over it. I'm not the biggest fan of it either really - not only is it even harder to gank lanes because your reduced initial movement speed, but you will fall even farther behind unless you pull off some successful ganks.

I think Riot figured that laners (with the passive boost to movement speed and reduction to boots), would be starting with a greater variety of items. However, this has not happened yet. Most are starting boots / 3 potions allowing them to get away from ganks.

Add this to the sightstone (free wards whenever you back) - pretty much infinite vision for lanes if they choose to get this item.

Combine this with the Oracles Elixir nerf (now only lasts 5 mins).

Before, most Junglers would get Philostone / Heart of Gold - but with HoG being removed and the stats from Shurelia's Revere being reduced (what built out of philo), it isn't really worth it to get GP10 items, unless you are going to build something out of it. Kage's pick is the only one that will benefit Junglers much anymore (very situational and only on certain Junglers). The reason Junglers would stack GP10 items is because the jungle is very poor gold wise.

Lots of people are upset because Riot claimed that Junglers would be allowed to have more of a late game as opposed to being these tanky type characters without much farm - this was supported even in the S3 preview video. This is blatantly false as the Jungler can now lose harder than before and will not recover.

It hurts more than lanes actually got a bit of a boost in gold per wave (with the added gold on the cannon minion).

Add this to the fact that with Junglers spending even more time farming and not ganking lanes - laners are getting stomped if they get outplayed. They are usually pretty merciless too with their screams against the Jungler.

Overall:

No GP10s
Have to spend money on certain items (Machete to Spirit stones) which only have moderate synergy with champions and not full value on stats.
Poorer ganks.
Fall behind laners even faster.

Hopefully Riot does make some minor adjustments to the Jungle. It hasn't been as much fun as the S2 Jungle. Obviously only time will tell, but the early reports aren't exactly good.

Completely agree. I've already seen a number of people talking about running a support top instead of a jungle. The loss of GP10s hurt supports as well.

Havent tried to many support games yet, but speccing into pickpocket (and passive gold changes) seemed to pick up any slack.

Their blow has been impacted slightly less - they get the passive gp10 generation, which isn't bad. Most supports will have specced into gold quints (+3) and Utility tree (+2), so they start out with +18 per 10, as opposed to +15 per 10.

I see most supports still building Philo, even though it has been reduced - it is still average on supports, for the initiation / escape.

Supports now build Kage's Pick as that builds into the Shard to True Ice - which actually keeps the GP10 Passive after it is built !!!

Supports are squishier because of the lack of HoG early game, but the Sightstone makes up a bit for that - which also saves them money long term. Also their support items such as the locket give a very nice HP boost now.

I had a couple of very sad games last night. 2 games I was Jungling (we won), but the support had more gold than me in both games (because of assists).

I'm also noticing the assist gold change seems to be hurting a little more than it should. I don't know, but it seems like the calculations were off somewhat from S2. I know they capped it at 150 (they said it was 158 in the notes, but it was 175).

I think the strategy will be to take area CC heavy or naturally tanky Junglers. Going to do some Cho'gath tonight as I haven't tried him since the new patch.

Going to work on my top lane Singed tonight - he needs to build differently after this patch with addition of some items + the removal of FoN, so I will work on that.

I'm going to test out the Frozen Fist on him. I used to build Glacial Shroud / Frozen Heart on him for the tankiness, but this may provide more Singed Utility with an AoE Slow. I know that InvertedComposer (best Singed NA) used to build the sheen on him, so this may actually work. While his Glue is nice, this may make Singed even more annoying.

So basically here is what I am going to do:

Core:
Boots (likely mercs, then the ones which give you Movement speed every time you deal damage) - Tear of the Goddess - Rod of Ages - Frozen Fist - Negatron Cloak

This gets you around 4k+ HP at level 18, so you're in prime troll mode.

Then money permitting:
Upgrade ArchAngel's Staff from Tear, which then upgrades for free to that Seperath Staff - for the 25% mana troll shield
Thornmail - AD heavy team
Banshee's Veil - MR heavy team.

The reason Tear is now viable is because it is cheaper (700 gold = amazing) and you couldn't charge it before with Singed. Now with the new changes you just have to spend mana (used to be activate certain skills, his poison didn't work on it) every 3 seconds and you gain a charge. You can effectively charge this in 10-12 minutes with Singed, which is amazing.

I've heard Liandry's is prime for Singed trolling, but it makes him kinda squishy which really isn't what you want for Singed. He works best as the "absorb all the damage and run around like an idiot" character, kinda like Mundo.

I really miss the FoN on him. That extreme Health regen will be missed.

Game is officially unfun for me. Got a friend who knows DotA 2 to take me under his wing. Game has just ceased being any good since the patch. Too much tinkering.

You should just wait until they officially go live with season 3. For the most part I've found my builds to remain fairly similar with the odd new item thrown in the mix.

Miss Fortune FTW!

Just started playing this game about 2-3 weeks ago when my little brothers convinced me to give it a try. Seems to be the only way I can get their attention or hang out with them. Kids these days...

I'm not much of a video game person anymore (played a ton of Halo pre-2007-08) but this game is a lot of fun even though the learning curve for someone who hasn't played a computer game since SimTower, let alone a game where you use a keyboard and not just click, click, click.

Ton of fun so far besides the odd random you play with who rages over a game. I'd be happy to never hear the phrase "you stole my kill" for the rest of my life but besides that it's quiet a fun game with lots to learn. It has made it easier having friends and brothers already at level 30 to teach me the ways but I am more than happy playing a Bot game if no one else is online.

I've had the most luck and game play with Miss Fortune but plan on trying out other characters once I get a grip on the game itself. People say I'm doing fine but sometimes playing with the 30's I feel like I'm running around with my head cut off.

edit: any good sites to read about characters and ideal builds? I just found out a couple days ago about the runes and masteries part of the game.

For Builds.

The good thing is that you will not hear "stole my kill" too often once you get up to 30. People understand it a little better. If someone says you "ksed" them, just tell them "Kill secured"

As far as Miss Fortune goes - actually for most AD carries it is like this for your build (Ezreal and Corki are slightly different) or with a couple other mods.

Boots / 3 potions to start.
1st buy - Dorans Blade / Vamp Scepter / Upgrade to Bezerker Greaves
(If you fall far behind get a 2nd blade, but you should be OK)
(If you are far ahead you can get a BF Sword)
Start building Infinity Edge and Finish it (1st major item)
Phantom Dancer (2nd)
Last Whisper (3rd)
Blood Thirstier (4th)
Guardian Angel (5th)

You'll sell your Doran's Sword at some point to make room.

That's it.

Run 21/9/0 Masteries (all into AD / Damage)

Attack Damage Quints, Marks, Armor Seals and Magic Resist Glyphs. Don't buy runes till level 20 and only buy tier 3 ones. Others are traps!

I almost always start my build off with a Doran's Blade over boots. My builds have stayed somewhat similar since the new items hit but I'd go with:

Doran's Blade
Boots - Beserker's Greaves
BF Sword - Infinity Edge
Runaan's Hurricane (This thing is ridiculous and better than a PD
Blood Thirstier
Black Cleaver
Banshee's Veil or Guardian Angel

Soraka would be the only one I would consider it on.
