Quick question: If I wanted to go from Sirocco station to the university, where would I get off and transfer onto a Crowfoot train?

It hasn't been discussed in a while, but god that's a bad map for so many reasons. I couldn't imagine being new to the City and trying to figure out WTF is going on downtown.

Have you ever been to a new city with a metro system? It's no different.

For instance, New York:

London:

Quick question.
Does anyone know if there is a parking lot along the new line that will have spots available at about 7:30 in the monring?

I'll be coming from Mount Royal (the school, not the neighbourhood), so something close to there would be what I'm looking for.

I understand the engineering / reasoning behind the use of the new trains but boy do the optics look bad...

New Train Line
New Train Cars Only
New Line heading to/from one of the more affluent parts of the city.

Looks like the makings of a good Rick Bell article in the Sun.

New line also heads into the dirty dirty NE, so that part doesn't check out.

No, our map is still terrible (with regards to the 7th avenue corridor).

Do any of those maps you linked have stations that only serve one direction of the line? Or is every single station dot serving trains in BOTH directions?

That is where that 7th avenue stretch is done horribly, barely visible little arrows showing which direction each station serves is terrible. At the very least they could have offset the dots to indicate direction of travel served.

Question: When LRT vehicles enter service on a particular line, do they remain on that line for the entire day? Obviously, the frequency changes at different times of day, but what I am wondering is, will a vehicle on the NE-W line in the AM rush likely be on the same line in the PM rush?

The reason I ask, it perhaps the W line could/should get the old U2s in the AM rush when they'd be going downhill while full and uphill while mostly empty, and the newer vehicles when the opposite is true in the PM rush.

I'm not saying that Calgary Transit could/should allocate the vehicles like this, but I can see the NW-S folk (who make up the majority of riders) getting a tad cheesed when they're packed into a stuffy U2 in the middle of summer every time they ride.

There should still be a significant percentage of newer style trains of the NW/S line.

Some trains do change lines during the day, but mostly as they go in and out of service. Generally, this would be trains coming from OBMF in the NE to serve the south line, as OMBF will store more than just the 202 line's share of cars.

I took a brief tour of the 69th Street Station parkade just before 8:00am. Parking stalls were packed to the brim. You might have slim chance at 7:30am.
Sirocco Station seemed to have lots of space left, but the parking lot is across the street from the C-Train platform.
Once you go east of Sarcee Trail, they do not have "Park and Ride" lots at any of the new stations heading downtown.

How long do you think before the C-train expands to Aspen?

The arrows look a lot clearer and make more sense when looking at the big map that is displayed at the platforms.

But they are nearly illegible when viewing the ones above the door on the train. The arrows are not obvious at all. They suck.

It actually might be faster for you to get off at Shaganappi Point and transfer to the 72, fwiw.

Rode the train into dt this morning for the first time. Used to walk from my house to the 301, today tried taking the 93 and everything went great. Timing wise it's about the same as my old commute, but I definitely loved going by all the cars crawling on Bow.
