I tried to be humble, but then I realized that it's more fun to be a blatant homer.
In my findings, it's the blatant homers who talk the most when their teams win, but they're also the ones who take the losses in the most childish of fashions
Houston has the Colts twice and Minnesota at home. It is really hard to beat the same team twice in one season but I love how the Texans match up vs Indy. The Patriots have one challenge left this season and it's next week vs the 49ers. I do not think highly of this 49ers team but I think the Texans still win out and get the #1 seed.

See heres the thing, its pretty obvious to fans across the league that the pats are a very good football team, you'd be a complete hater to not acknowledge it, however our fan base is so beyond cocky its annoying even to me. Most of our fans were not fans before the 2000 season (im guessing based on your age your in this boat) and didnt experience the gloom years of being a sub .500 team for seasons upon seasons before Bill and Tom.
Now every teams fan hates us because of comments like you make! Be humble and happy for the success because it wont be long until you have to experience what i had to back in the early 90's and then it wont be so funny when other fans take jabs at us!

I looked up his career record and it's not terrible I guess I just figure if he was such a great coach people would have knocked his door down long ago to get him back on a team and out of the TV booth.
I heard that he turned down at least 2 offers before this season started...now i dont know if those were just offers to interview for a job or if they were more serious, but i have little doubt he would be snapped up in a heart beat if he was looking real hard at returning.
the NFL loves guys that have won....and even those that havent. Look at Shottenheimer and Fisher and Turner and guys like that.

I believe that the Texans manhandle Indy next week. Then Indy wins the rematch when the game is likely to mean nothing to either team.
I'm not a huge believer in judging coaches off their W-L record. It's got to much to do with the talent the coach has to work with. Jim Caldwell almost coached a perfect season!!!

Is it though? The Texans now have lost the tie-breaker with the Patriots and homefield advantage after tonight, would mean more then ever to the Texans.
I never understood the love for Gruden. He seems like he'd be a great college RAH RAH type of coach but is his professional pedigree anything more than winning a superbowl with Dungy's players?
If he "won with Dungys players" didn't he face his "own players" in the Super Bowl?
And if Dungys players were so good how come he never won with them?
And as Transpalnt said he certainly has been linked with a number of jobs over the years. It is home saying no, not NFL teams not wanting him that has stopped him from being a coach again.
I wouldn't say the Pats have big weaknesses, they're just not as good as some people may make them out to be. As in, they're still beatable, it will just take a very strong effort to beat them. And thanks for the heads up re: Tennessee hiring a new coach. Rumors were so strong about Gruden going there before, guess not.
Only watching this game in passing after the rout was one but last week against the Dolphins there were a lot of open receivers. I know the defense has been better of late but I still think that is a defense that can be very easy to pass on and a very weak defensive secondary with a pass rush that can be weak at times. That is the weakness I was talking about.

Why focus on the dark future ahead? Enjoy the fun while it lasts. When the team is terrible again, it's not like I'm going to abandon them. I've invested too much emotion into this team over the last 9 years (Yes I remember the game against the Panthers) to walk away after a losing season. When you're a young guy, you pick a team to cheer for. The Patriots were THE team of the early 2000's and I chose them. You can't call a 7 year old a bandwagoner.
What I'm getting at is that not all post-2000 Pats fans are bandwagoners, and other fans need to spit out the Haterade and see that.
If it bothers all of you, I'll tone down the homerism until they finally win something big again.
