Thought Foles hung in there and made some nice plays. The running game was completely snuffed out so it made his performance that much better. I guess the last play was his call, Reid gave him control.

Secondary still sucks.

I don't know if there are any really good teams either. If Houston wins tomorrow, I'll have to say they're the best team. But if they don't...who is? At this point I would have to say New England followed by Denver....and I really don't know who is going to win the NFC. As we saw today, Atlanta is not as good as their record. If Seattle can win out and claim the #2 seed....they might win the NFC with how they play at home.

Next week gets interesting too as San Fran goes to New England and Denver goes to Baltimore. If Denver wins that game, and New England doesn't win theirs, Bronco fans start feeling pretty good. I think in the AFC you really want that top seed because right now the top three teams seem to be a cut above. Mind you I felt that way about the NFC last year....and it was the 4 seed getting hot.

As a Ravens fan this made my day.

The guy was a bonehead when it came to calling plays. Was conservative when he needed to stretch things out. Neglected a top 5 RB in terms of quality touches.

Can't see my boys making any news this year due to the injuries but this will tide me over for sure.

Yeah it sure is Cam Cameron's fault the Ravens defense has been mostly awful this season. Strange just to make a change for change's sake, this is an obvious panic move. Not sure it'll matter, no shot Baltimore can beat Houston, New England or Denver in the playoffs.

I don't think the Ravens firing of Cameron is in any way a panic move. There have been rumblings that Flacco, Rice and other key offensive players didn't like the offense he had in place and this is going as far back as last season. No idea why they brought him back for this year.

How many Super Bowl winners have fired a coordinator in week 14 of the season? Thats why this is a panic move, their season is going south and the hope is this will light a fire under them. Of course, if your defense lets Charlie Batch beat you, you should probably accept your season is in effect over. This move doesn't solve their mostly awful defense.

This is very far from a change just for change's sake, Cam Cameron is an awful OC, he had to go.

Not sure what Baltimore beating any of those teams has to do with firing a guy who hasn't done a good job, kind of strange logic.

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh fired offensive coordinator Cam Cameron on Monday following a 31-28 overtime loss to the Washington Redskins on Sunday. Whereas Jim made a seemingly abrupt call to replace starting quarterback Alex Smith with the inexperienced Colin Kaepernick, John's decision was an accumulation of personal issues between Cameron, quarterback Joe Flacco and the rest of the coaching staff, team sources have indicated.

In short, Cameron is a control freak. He has been for years. Ask people who were in Miami when he served as Dolphins head coach for just one season (2007) and you'll hear stories about how it was actually easier for people in the building to deal with Nick Saban than Cameron.

That is why, despite a pretty reasonable performance by Baltimore's offense against Washington, this move had to be made. Whether that was now or in the offseason, the Ravens were going to have to divorce themselves of Cameron if they eventually wanted to keep Flacco happy.

Subbing in Jim Caldwell, the low-key former quarterback coach to Peyton Manning and eventual Colts head coach, was a terrific first move. While Caldwell is just as smart as Cameron, one of Caldwell's best qualities is that he doesn't crave attention. Caldwell is a facilitator of other people's success. He knows when to interject himself and when to back away.

By contrast, Cameron is like the Advanced Placement high school teacher who wants to show everybody how smart he is every day. He's also overtly religious and comes off as a preacher at times, rather than a compatriot.

However, the unit has faced its share of scrutiny, often leading Flacco to make snide remarks and replies to reporters about how they should go talk to Cameron.

The issues between the pair apparently became significantly worse in 2010. That season, the Ravens brought in Jim Zorn to be the quarterback coach. The gregarious, enthusiastic Zorn got along great with Flacco, but rubbed Cameron the wrong way. Some people believe that Cameron became concerned about how well Zorn and Flacco got along. Whatever it was, Zorn was out after one season.

You fire a guy in week 14 of a playoff team to do what exactly? And you replace him with a guy who's offensive pedigree includes more or elss staying out of Peyton Manning's way (FYI: Caldwell has never called offensive plays in his coaching career)? This wasn't an upgrade, thats for sure. It is at best a lateral move, aka a change for the sake of change. If he's as bad as Drake's stuff there suggests, why not fire him any number of times? Why now? Other than the obvious: Light a fire under our struggling team. For all we know this could be an audition to see if Caldwell does a good job of calling plays, the Ravens might be looking to replace Cam Cameron from within the organization.

Nobody knows why he wasn't fired a long time ago, it probably had something to do with Harbaugh. What other Superbowl teams have done in the past doesn't really matter either, the Ravens weren't going to win a Superbowl with Cam Cameron as the OC this year.

Sounds like Steve Bisciotti wanted Cam Cameron fired last year. My guess is he only kept his job because they were a play away from playing in the Super Bowl. I guess that means he is the one who fired him last night (that's what I read on twitter that the decision was made roughly three hours after the game last night), then carried out this morning.

Aaron Wilson tweeted some stuff why the move made was to fire Cam Cameron, disagreements over protection schemes, major disconnect on the sidelines yesterday (I read on a website from someone who attended the game in Maryland yesterday John Harbaugh lost it. When I mean lost it he apparently was laying into Cam Cameron) with coaches part of impetus for this move, but had been brewing for long time. The hope is that with Jim Caldwell as the OC the communication will be upgraded, Hurry-up offense expected to return to prominence, and thinking internally is that things will be streamlined with Joe Flacco with Jim Caldwell operating as OC/QB Coach.
