There you go, it should just go to Westside it makes sense. It may take a little longer but probably won't and it's guaranteed to get there in a smooth straight line.
I actually think the 108 complaints are more valid then the 101 ones.

The removal of the 108 is the biggest issue going forward i think.

With the 108 gone, ridership on the 112 which wasn't changed, will probably go up for those who won't use the CTrain.

this needs to be cleaned up pretty fast. It appears the previous order of lights gets messed up with the train getting priority. lights on Bow were red with the left turn from Bow to 26th on. Walk signal to go across the south (east bound) bow lanes was red. People crossed street as traffic was stopped and then the light goes green because the train is ready to leave. Previously the turn signal ended and then the north south for 26th was green. It's unfortunate the city couldn't have spent the additional 50m to drop the line there in a trench but I guess you have to cut money somewhere. That light could end up being problematic though.

Has the frequency of the 112 increased?
That would be a tonne of new riders on that bus. I guess we'll see but there is a Big hole of buses from that Co-op on Richmond rd all the way to Richmond and the Sarcee Road intersection with no 108.

The new 93 would go from Richmond Co-op to 45th Street Station.

Some of my photos from today. Admittedly I only went because my kid and I had a deal that we'd ride the train the first day it opened since we first saw them start construction. That's why these photos all feature my son and his best friend.
Waiting for the train at Westbrook.
Checking to see if it's coming.
How packed the train was near 45th St. Station. Hard to navigate with a stroller (we brought my daughter along too).
Watching out the window near Sunalta. Nice views out the sides of the train.
Pointing out the crossing at 26th St. We've walked across this dozens of times, he finally got to see it from on board.

I'd say a little bit in the last few weeks but not by much, I assume that come Monday it'll get alot worse. I know my wife is going to have to start taking the 112 because the new routes don't help her because the new LRT doesn't do much for her in terms of getting downtown to work. I usually take the 112 around 6:30am so I don't think I'll see much if any impact to myself. I'm assuming the ride from downtown home will be pure hell now though because it was bad enough at times with both routes running.

I find it thoroughly impressive they managed to complete a project of this scope and size in under 3 years.

Agreed, especially when they had fallen behind early in the project and had told Calgarians that it wouldn't be open until March 2013

After all the headaches and sleepless nights from the construction, I can't believe I missed the opening yesterday.
The good news is our windows aren't shaking every time a train goes by. I may go sit in the basement for a bit to see if I hear anything down there.

I didn't get a chance to make it out there either, thought it would be too crowded and it was cold!
But I heard from some that the train is incredibly smooth and quiet. They couldn't even feel it go into the tunnels.

Drove past an inbound train @ 26th Station this morning at 7;15, and there were still lots of seats left, so I'd imagine even once more people start taking the train, there should still be plenty of room for the time being.
Compare that with the South trains that are pretty much clogged full at that time, so Ozy, I think we'll be okay.

Ducay, I will wait about a month, taking the train at various times between 6 and 830 AM, to evaluate load concerns. I still want to judge the commute home during peak rush hour. Haven't even done that yet!
