That's good. I thought he made a huge improvement the way he coaches this season. In his first year as special team coach, i thought he won't last for another season but again i was wrong again. He was a breath of fresh air in 2012 season with some of those tricky plays in special team and their coverage was awesome.

Hopefully we can trade Glenn for a Canadian safety. We will be set for next year already.

I'd be interested to see how the WR battle in training camp goes. Lots of injuries this year, which means lots of guys got playing time. Lewis, Price, McDaniel, Bryant, Arthur, Forzani, Bauman, Parker, West, Franklin... you can also throw in Taylor (and Armstead), plus they usually bring in a few new guys for competition...
Also interesting to see what happens at the RB position; we have three pretty strong Canadians in Cornish, Cote, and Walter. I suspect there will be some good competition between Coker and any other imports they might bring in for that spot.

I have to say Bauman and Franklin are the odd man out on the R position even though they are Canadians. It is time for Anthony Parker to show what he can do and please STAY away from injuries. I am not a big fan of Jabari Arthur though. Very inconsistent and always injured. When he is playing he is a big target and can be a physical presence just like Nik Lewis does but he too have to stay away from injuries. Larry Taylor definitely will get re-sign and stay in Calgary. They might keep Armstead as an insurance but not sure if he will stay in Calgary as a practice roster.
As for RB, Cornish and Cote are pretty safe while Walters can play both tailback and fullback at times so I really think they will keep him. Coker is a good RB when he is healthy and I wouldn't be surprise if Huf bring in some competition for him so he's not comfortable and starts slacking off. They did that to MLB Juwan Simpson last season in the training camp and he responded.
On the Herald this morning, they were saying BC Lions might be interested in safety Eric Fraser because they are not confident with Muamba or something. Guess what BC Lions, you can have Fraser any time...please sign him now!!!

agree with pretty much everything said... and Price did more than replace Forzani. Price can become our #1 with Lewis, McDainiel, Bryant and West. It shouldn't be just given back to young Johnny.
I would trade Glenn for either O line help or Safety. Roll with Tate and Bo Levi. Glenn had an attractive season and is a trad-able asset now.
I hope they can resign Taylor and Paredes, Mace, Bryant and Maver.

Contract extension for Paredes:
http://www.stampeders.com/article/pa...ract-extension
“In his two seasons with the team, Rene has established himself as one of the league’s most reliable kickers,” said Hufnagel. “I look forward to seeing him build on that success in the coming seasons.”
“I’ve really enjoyed my first two seasons with the Stampeders and I’m very pleased to sign this contract extension that will let me stay in Calgary,” said Paredes. “I have great teammates and great coaches and I’m looking forward to the future and a chance to take that final step to winning a Grey Cup championship.”

resigning Paredes is huge for the Stamps, the guy goes from being a quick stop gap signing for Huff to being a premier FG kicker. Amazing accuracy.

Calgary Stampeders @calstampeders: Stampeders announce the resignation of President/COO Lyle Bauer, who will remain with club in consulting role http://tinyurl.com/a4gzac5
Quote:
As a result of the ownership restructuring that took place in the spring of 2012, the Calgary Stampeders announced today the resignation of President/COO Lyle Bauer. Lyle has agreed to stay on in a consulting role to effect a smooth executive transition.
“I have enjoyed my time with the Stampeders immensely and thank the ownership group and fans for a wonderful opportunity,” said Bauer. “The team is in good hands to carry on our commitment to solid community ownership and high-performance football.”

I'm not surprised about this. There were rumours that Lyle never fit in with Flames ownership/management. The team didn't have a great year last year as far as attendance goes.

New deal for Marquay McDaniel:
http://cfl.ca/article/stamps-ink-rec...el-to-new-deal
Quote:
“I’m pleased that Marquay has made a long-term commitment to the team by signing this extension,” said Hufnagel. “He is a reliable veteran who was an important member of our offence in 2012 and also made valuable contributions on special teams when called upon to return kicks.”
|
Quote:
"I very much enjoyed the past season and Calgary feels like home to me,” said McDaniel. “This team has great players and great coaches and that makes for a great situation. It reminds me a lot of a college atmosphere and the members of the team are like a family to me.”

Great news McDaniel has emerged as a offensive threat for the Stamps.
