I really think Vancouver's reluctance to support the Heat because they are the Flames farm team is just a lazy excuse for them.
Chicago hates the Canucks, but the Chicago Wolves seem to get really good support from Chicago "hockey fans". Maybe Chicago is just a better hockey town than Vancouver?
I think in the case of Chicago, the Wolves have been in existence outside of the AHL for a long time (much like the Houston Aeros and, to a lesser extent, the Manitoba Moose). Because of that, fans are much more likely to follow the team regardless of the players, because they've always been a kind of "independent" in the league.
A video of Ryan Pinder reading Barry Brust some Twitter congratulations for his record (Freeway and I got some of our funnier messages read on this video):

The Heat are now up by four points on Charlotte and Syracuse who are tied for second in the AHL. I like the Abbotsford Heat.
their GA is dominant. I don't think East & west play each other this year, so in a pool of 15 teams that have only played each other, the Heat have given up close to a full goal against per game less than the next best team. It's insane.
Good attendance again last night of 5145. The question for me is, were these Canadiens fans or Heat fans? Anyways looking good this year with some rivalries.
According to this video, Baertschi and Walter didn't finish the game, are nicked up. Hope they are okay. Happy with Nemisz's return and his size is important. Dogs?
Fun fact I didn't know, Ben Street played with Kris Chucko in Salmon Arm.
Vulcan, people will be able to bring their dogs to the game tonight for a $5 fee. It's a weird promotion haha.
Anyways, Ward glued Walter, Brodie, Horak, and Baertschi's asses to the bench last Sunday versus the Aeros for the entire third period and overtime. He was just trying to send a message to them I suppose. Next game out, look all four of those guys pick up a point haha.
I didn't Walter's injury at the end of the game. He didn't even come out of the tunnel after being named first star. Baertschi and a Bulldog slid into the corner and Sven took the worst of it. However, Sven didn't look too phased when he went to the bench. I would imagine he'd be back in tonight.

hmm, surprised that its Howse coming up to the Heat... it was assuming he wasn't doing very well... of course, I've never seen a game so I have no idea... hopefully he kicks ass in the 'A'
For Saturday's game, the Heat were down to 12 healthy forwards as six guys (Eddy, Ferland, Bouma, Aliu, Baertschi and Walter) were all out with injuries.
Adding Howse gives the team a bit more size and flexibility.
Any injury updates for Sven? I keep checking this thread hoping to hear good news...
No news.
All I know is that Baertschi's fall into the boards didn't look that bad. He got up and skated somewhat laboured to the bench, but looked no worse than a person who is out of breath would be.
With an NHL season becoming less of a possibility every day is there any talk of somehow getting down to two goalies? Three goalies longterm never works, they can't get even get proper practice.

Even this much of an update was more than I found by googling it. Thanks! And thanks for all the other reports as well, they are appreciated!
