They want a state like NC and Virginia since they don't have them, however with that being said they don't need to add 'football' powers and having two great basketball schools and two great academic schools to go with UF vandy, TAMU, and Mizzou would make the SEC look less like the hillbillies that only know how to make moonshine

Well, since McCarron is back to pathetic mode, that's pretty much ballgame.

Notre Dame will win the National Title. Their defense is superior to either one of these teams, and both these offenses are mediocre at best. The SEC needed its reputation to get to the title game, cause neither of these teams are particularly great. I actually think Florida and A&M are better than both.

Notre Dame is going to get rolled. Either Georgia or Alabama would beat them.
That was a good game, but a dud ending on the part of Georgia there.

So many people treat these players as if they're paid professionals, not young men. Ill never understand how done Americans treat college players.
I wasn't against not spiking the ball. I like the idea of keeping the defense on their toes and keeping that hurry up flow going.

Alabama has stuggled mightly against the 3 good teams they've played (all scored 24 or over), including the offensive juggernauts LSU and Georgia (who scored 17 and 7 in their two toughest defensive tests prior to today). Notre Dame hasn't allowed more than 20 points in regulation this year. Bama won't be able to run like this against the front 7 of Notre Dame. AJ McCarron was brutal for most of today. Notre Dame wins 31-14.

Now the 76th overall offence is going to put up 31 on the number 1 defence? The key to beating Alabama is passing, and Notre Dame doesn't have it. So I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Notre Dame is actually the number one ranked defense, and 45th in total offense. LSU is ranked 75th and they did score 24 against Alabama. Notre Dame, when you look at them, are built like an SEC team. Incredible defense, good running game, QB who can make enough plays. And their defense is better than Alabama's. Holding Oklahoma to 13 points in Norman? Extremely impressive.
Also, please remember the Big 12's 5th best team came into the SEC and nearly played for the national title. The SEC has the advantage of not facing many good offenses. I mean really, what great offenses did Alabama face? Texas A&M, who beat them. The SEC at present is overrated. Its not what it was last year or a few years ago.

I really wish I could bet you. SEC rolling ND is money in the bank. The SEC is light years ahead of everyone else. ND needed a few awful calls to limp there way through their schedule. Decent team, but maybe the worst #1 team in decades.

People are really clinging to the A&M thing too, but did anyone actually watch the game? Alabama comes off their biggest game of the year and promptly ####s the bed for the first quarter.
Quarters 2,3 and 4 the vaunted Johnny Football didn't do much, but in the end Alabama still lost which is obviously the most important part. But how one bad quarter makes them overrated and somehow means an entire conference doesn't play good offences is a logic leap I just don't get. "oh!! see!!! ... they play a real quarterback and lose!!!!!11" It was one bad quarter, and yes it was enough to lose, but come on.
These great offences have had their chance 7 of 8 years to show how overrated the SEC teams were, and not one of them showed it.

Oklahoma...in Norman. Notre Dame has played a more difficult schedule than Alabama, even if people don't want to believe it. This article shows that pretty clearly

What offense has Bama seen this year? TAMU and they were beat.

Bama should of lost to LSU too, they got lucky that LSU is coached by Lester

Oh, well if a Pat Forde opinion piece says it, it must be true. All hail Notre Dame.

Its not an opinion piece when all he uses are facts. And please go ahead and slam the Sagarin ratings that consistently call the SEC the best (even currently ranking Bama #1 ahead of the Domers)

Compare the offences Notre Dame face to the ones Alabama faced. There's really no room for Notre Dame to point and laugh. Notre Dame played two in the top 40, and USC didn't even have Matt Barkley when they played them. So lets not pretend that either of these teams walked through the offensive juggernaut fire.

Might have had the single greatest QB run in history in the BigTen game by the Neb QB

Rankings are nice, but imo the SEC is the best conference because it produces the most NFL'ers and just wins the big games. You can debate rankings, but you can't debate rings and hugs from Roger Goodell.
