It was on global news last nite. They all had the last name Rempel.

Holy crap here is one of them. He was the older brother of the current husband. Not only a murdering a-hole he is also a child pornographer. Sick!
http://globaltvcalgary.smdg.ca/exclu...556/story.html
Oh no wonder the names haven't been released anywhere else. Global got inside info.
http://www.globaltvcalgary.com/pages...?id=6442758834 Lane’s death is considered a homicide, and first-degree murder charges are pending against two men and one woman.
Global News has learned those suspects are Will Rempel, Tim Rempel and Sheena Rempel. Sheena is the mother of Ryan Lane’s young daughter, and police were investigating if his disappearance was linked to a custody dispute.

After watching that video I'm amazed they got caught (eyeroll). These idiots thought they could get away with murder. That guy could barely put a sentence together. Anyway I hope justice comes fast and swiftly for the Lane family. Very tragic and sad my heart goes out to them.

I also feel for the girl - tragic that her father was killed and it looks like it was done by her mother and stepfather.

i thought it was interesting that global got to interview sheena, but the others were not interviewed. Edit, I see that the otehrs were interviewed - I watched Global last night and they only spoke with Sheena.
Yikes, what a mess for the child.

is it just me, or is this arrest procedure bizzare - in that Sun article they are not releasing names, but Nancy Hixt seemingly has the inside scoop on who is being arrested.

Calgary police have made an arrest in the death of 24-year-old Ryan Lane, CBC News has learned. With help from RCMP, police arrested a man named Tim Rempel in Grand Prairie, Alta.
 He is facing murder charges.
Lane was last seen in February near Country Hills Boulevard in Calgary's northwest.
Last week, police confirmed his remains had been found and officially declared his death a homicide.
At the time, police said charges were pending against three suspects: two men and a woman.

Why did Ryan not see his daughter for years?
Did Sheena not allow him or was Ryan an absentee father?

Because in the Global interview yesterday, Sheena said Ryan deserted her and their daughter

Does it really matter?

I don't know what the relationship dynamic was, just the impact this has had on his dad. No matter how good or bad of a father he may have been in the past, or what the his reasons for being out of contact are, two things are clear.

- He was trying to become part of the girls life.
- He didn't deserve what was done to him.

Why is that anyone's business and of what relevance is it to his murder?

I can also see why her new husband would not want "a deadbeat dad" that abandomed them back in their lives.

Once again, it does not justify Ryan's murder. But it does provide some understanding of Sheena and her circle's thoughts about Ryan and his character.

Of course, no one deserves death. But if Ryan was a model father the entire time, I doubt he gets killed

Do we all have to be model people in all aspects of our lives in order to not get murdered?

I think this aspect of the story (if it really is an aspect) shouldn't really be highlighted. If Sheena was a driving force to kill Ryan, then it really doesn't matter.
