From a pure smartphone standpoint, I would probably say yes.
The price and the instant update availability makes the Nexus 4 an interesting option for some.

And even that is pretty debatable.
A 300-350 dollar phone that is on par with the 700+ ones is incredible. The low price to be contract free can't be understated. Mind you, I've been pretty outspoken over the years about my hatred of cell phone contracts so maybe I'm overstating it.

Engadget was saying it sold out in 8 minutes from launch. Seriously, how much stock in Google shipping for these things? We know for the Nexus 7 now they had more than 700k in the launch month, they probably would have expected more for the Nexus 4?? Nuts they are selling out so fast, probably won't be able to get one till the new year.

Plus the S3 is ugly as wrinkly balls and the N4 is beautiful.

Sounds like another mess of a launch for Google. The store is still buggy with phones disappearing from peoples' carts as they were trying to checkout. Apparently the most successful method was to sit there furiously clicking the proceed button hundreds of times until it worked.
I still don't get why they don't just do a proper pre-order.

$359 for a Nexus 4 vs $559 for an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S III is still a great deal and probably not worth the extra $200 for a Samsung, but it's not $359 vs. a $700 phone.

Hmm...
I'm having a really tough time letting go of the removable battery. Is the SIM card built in too?

Well, 700 was too high, but not much. I was going off the Telus website (top of my head at the moment) I knew it was closer to 700 then 559. They're selling it 650, no contract, 16GB.

No, or do you mean expandable storage? A built in SIM card would defeat the purpose of an unlocked phone, does this even exist nowadays?

Verizon is one place that comes to mind with built in simcards in their phone. Or was it Sprint? Meh.

I believe Rogers is selling theirs for 600?its not that hard to get less than 500 almost new S3. Also, the N4 is not a $310 or $360 phone. Shipping needs to be included making it a $325/375 phone. A small difference but still important.

FYI, I just got home and I left this morning at 6. I spend about 15 minutes on about 6 different short calls today and sent a few texts and some other random stuff and my battery is at 6%. I bet a lot of you will have to be charging mid day.

Damn you Google / LG and your perfect, everyone wants, cool looking smart phone! Why do you have to be so POPULAR!?!
I really wanted one for Christmas. Doesn't seem like this will be the case.

Hmmm, that sounds pretty terrible actually. Reading other peoples' experiences isn't painting a better picture either, as many are recommending turning off a bunch of features (NFC, Google Now, etc.) to get decent battery life.
Though who knows when we'll even get the thing in Canada. It looks like Google is finally wising up and doing a pre-order of sorts in the US, as you can still purchase it right now on the US store with shipping estimates ranging from 2-8 weeks. But they're not doing that in Canada yet, so who knows when they'll have enough supply to sell it here again.

For those who have it or will have it, create an account with box.com and get free 50gb of cloud storage.
Applies to LG devices, which, technically, the N4 is.
As for battery life, nowhere near the same drain my HTC One X did (which is for sale, BTW).
I just had LTE turned on last Friday...when I restarted the phone the setting reset, and haven't turned it on since. But easily through a full day+ with moderate use. Wifi on (though only used at home) and GPS on.
I've heard havin Google + on all the time seems to drain things, but that not just on the N4.

Would be awesome if they didn't have a 100mb upload limit on my files... Otherwise a great place for all my android backups.

Had an idea!

Yeah, Box is great but the limit for a free user is pretty stupid.
I use Google+ to sync photos, and there is noticeable battery drain. Not sure how much as I updated my ROM lately as well.
Google Now was the biggest battery drain for me. My phone was down to 10% every night when I used it.

So my dog knocked over my Nexus and it smashed pretty badly. Is it even worth paying to be fixed?

The Nexus 7?
Part is something like $130, repair from ASUS is about $170.
