Didn't the Heat already go 5 out of 6 in a back to back to back? Or am I going crazy? This happened towards the beginning of the season, no?

The Heat went 1-1-1 in their last roadie 3-in-3.

By the way, Jason Zucker's OT goal against the Heat tied an AHL record for the fastest overtime goal.

I guess the Heat have been breaking a couple of records on other teams, they were due for a record to be broken on them. Karma.

Even PMM said he'd likely be gone when Nemisz and Byron returned.

Anyways just thought it was a funny look back at the training camp predictions. At the time I think people weren't putting enough stock in what Ward said when he talked about Olsen's line dominating possession in camp. Seemed like people were giving free passes to Flames picks/previous signings when it appears that merit definitely allowed Olsen to get his chance.

Hey, I'll admit it. During training camp, Mouillerat was better than Olson IMO.

I think Olsen is doing well but I didn't see it from camp, not that I am expert by any means. However it is all about opportunity....I guess we wont know if Walh or Mouillerat would be doing as well as Olsen if either had stayed with the Heat. I think so many guys could be there, just not enough spots.

Olson has definitely been a surprise, particularly with his offensive contribution. The bottom line however is that injuries to Nemisz, Byron, Aliu, and Bouman have given Olson the opportunity to prove he could play in the AHL. The problem is that with Byron back, Nemisz soon to return, and Aliu and Bouma to return eventually forwards will have to be moved.

It is unlikely that Olson is sent packing now, but what about Eddy (only two games played) or Estoclet (vet not putting up numbers like others). Unless the Heat are allowed to carry 30 healthy bodies, people are going to be loaned or sent to the ECHL.

By the way, I correctly predicted three goalies sticking around and the seven defensemen that were kept. My assumption on forwards getting released were based on numbers. It's not like I had Wahl and Cameron making the team, rather sending Olson, Ruegsegger, and Estoclet packing based on too many forwards in camp.

My prediction of the Heat roster

I remember hearing an interview around camp where Weisbrod was very high on Olsen and has had his eye on him for years.

He said something to the effect that many teams were high on the kid but were scared off due to the injuries.

Could be a case of buying low on a good prospect.
