Ya I know what you're saying, I saw it too. I'm just saying that I haven't seen that before from him (with us or Houston the few times I saw him there), so I don't think it is a common issue with him.
I think he was frustrated with himself for missing a few shots and free throws, and he was probably feeling some extra pressure with playin in his hometown.

I hope you are right, it just really wasn't a good first impression.
However JV did make a good impression with me.

Saw a stat today that really sums up the Raptors season so far: they're a league-worst -34 in the last 5 minutes of games that are within 5 points. In other words, they're the least clutch team in the league right now.

I know it is he 2nd night of a back to back on the road but that is a type of win the Raptors need to have against a bad team.
Valciunas looked good outside of the fouls.
Hate to harp on it again but the whining of the announcers is getting very tiresome.

Bargiani clearly got fouled on that last shot. Brutal reffing right there.

The NBA admitted the refs missed the foul call on Bargs at the end of the game.

At least the league admitted to the mistake. How the hell the refs missed the call is really unbelievable. Most of the time they make foul calls miles away (most of the time it's a flakey call). This time the ref is right in front; the ball leaves Bargnani's hand and goes nowhere even though the ball is not touched; it's the last 2 seconds of the game where every fart is focused on, and you're telling me the refs "missed" the call? NBA officiating is the worst. I don't know if they missed it, or it was just jerking around the organization or player. Regardless, that's one aspect of the game they need to change because it's fn ridiculous.

Andrea Brickgiani. 2-19 shooting. And yet Casey still plays him and sits Davis who played like a beast. Doesn't make sense. JV, Davis and DeMar battled hard, everyone else was pretty sloppy. Still good to see the team keep it close to one of the best in the NBA.

To me this loss was 100% on Casey. Bargnani as using was adding little on defense and boards. Bargnani needs to be the guy that you give a few minutes, see if he's hot, and if he's not, then use him sparingly, similar to how Kleiza's used. I also hate the two PG lineup, but until Fields or Anderson gets back, this team is so short on useful wings.

With those two back they are still short on useful wings.
I guess its nice that they played close to a top team in the league but after the past couple seasons and a 3-11 record it is a little late for "moral victories."

Agreed. Today was frustrating to watch Bargniani and even Lowry force shots. Lowry hit some threes at least, but was not much better than AB otherwise.
When a coach doesn't hold a player accountable it is just a matter of time before he loses the team.

Casey just can't handle rotations. Seriously, how can Davis get as few minutes a he did? He needs to get better or it will cost him his job.

I actually didn't mind the game against the Rockets. JV and Ross got tons of playing time. Now just to get Davis on the court. Dec 15th is the date I think they will get rid of AB and JC and get with the program.

Are you going to make any prediction about who they'll make a trade with?
For me, that's the sticking point. Every scenario I can come up with, the other team is unlikely to be ready to make a deal any time soon (such as LA not trading Gasol until they get a real try of him and Nash together), or would only give up a player far worse than Bargnani (like Washington trading a broken-down Okafor).

Heh, Raptors actually lead after one quarter against Memphis with Bargnani out of the lineup (ankle). That's going to get the Bargnani-haters even more frothing at the mouth.

There are a lot of guys who can't be traded till Dec 15th(NBA mandated rule). My personal hope is that they go for some young guy like Tyreke Evans who hasn't panned out. The old change of scenery move.

Raptors sign Pietrus, release McGuire. I didn't hate McGuire, he did what he was brought in to do, which was provide solid situational defense. But with Anderson and Fields both out an indefinite amount of time, they need someone who can play 20 minutes a night at SF, still be a solid defender, and not be completely useless on offense.

I don't mind Pietrus, but I actually didn't see the need to dump McGuire. In limited minutes his defence was solid. There are worse guys who could've been dropped, but perhaps Colangelo and staff know other things behind closed doors that can be issues. I liked his defence during his fill in spurts.

Who else would be dropped though?
