Let's say the NHL and NHLPA can salvage, say, 60 games this season. Will this season count against Iginla's consecutive 30 goal seasons? Or will this season not count?

I'm pretty sure it will. Sucks that his streak might end because of this whole thing.

He doesn't get hot until November anyway, so this might not even effect his goal scoring for an abbreviated season.

It would count. That's how Mike Gartner's consecutive goal streak ended

He wasn't on pace for 30 in the lockout year anyway

Does anyone know how long cold/flu germs live outside the body? For example, if they're on a doorknob, how long are they contagious?

Up to 2 days.

edit: To clarify, that is for non-porous surfaces, like a doorknob. For stuff like clothing and towels it is less than that, and on the human body even less. A google search would likely be able to provide the exact numbers if you were interested.

It varies, depending partly on where the germ-laden droplets fall. Experiments with specific cold and flu germs have shown potential survival times ranging from a few minutes to 48 hours or more. How long such germs remain capable of infecting you in day-to-day life is harder to say.

I assume if you didn't think I was right, or wanted to confirm it, 5 minutes on Google could do that for you.

Just wanted to confirm it, that's all. Since you're a computer guy, I had no idea you had any form of reliable medical knowledge.

Maybe in the future you could just include a link? I think a lot of people find that helpful...there is so much misinformation on the net, I always find CP refreshing because people put a little more thought into their posts than some of the other message boards I have visited. A little effort can go a long way.

I didn't have a link, because I didn't know of a website that had that information off the top of my head. I just gave a quick answer to a simple question in the "Quick-Question" thread, with the knowledge I happened to have.

I don't consider this thread to be The Can-someone-Google-this-for-me-and-post the-relevant-links Thread.

If you don't want to put in the effort to be a good poster, that's fine Rathji. It's one of the reasons I usually skip right over your posts anyway.

If figure skating is a winter olympic 'sport', why isn't ballet a summer olympic 'sport'?

Because a bear driving in a little car isn't a sport.

I've had a sore and scratchy throat for under a week. I've started to gargle with warm salt water now couple times a day, anything else I can do expedite this?
