All of the Harper examples are one sentence snippets. This is a 2 minute video. How are these even comparable? What context could that clip be taken out of?

Officially the stupidest thing written in this thread.
Anyways, this is really only news within Alberta, where the Libs have no chance of winning anyways. If anything, this likely went unnoticed, or perhaps even slightly endeared him to Eastern Canada and the West coast.

I agree with this. The political spectrum shouldn't be divided simply between left and right. There is room to have left, centrist and right parties. The only reason I like the Liberal party in theory is that they are supposed to be centrist enough that if you drew a Venn diagram, they would encompass aspects of the left and right, but as soon as they start to take on too much from one side, I think it defeats the purpose as they lose focus. It's definitely more difficult I think, to manage a centrist party because the very definition means there will be some fluidity on policy.
I do think there are some NDPers (and Conservatives for that matter) that could fit in with the centrist point of view, but all 3 parties should stay as they are all important for different reasons.

Plus its not the first time that he's been busted for saying stupid things like this in full and glorious color where there's no possibility of a misquote.
Maybe they should just put a fan in front of Justin that gently blows his hair around and not let him say anything.

I really don't see the big deal. I believe him when he said he was referring to Harper and for the first time since I began voting I'm actually excited for an election! Can't wait til Harper gets tossed out.

With first-past-the-post, 3 parties just results in crazy vote splits. If you really wanna see centrist parties, push for electoral reform (i.e. some kind of proportional representation).

You are definitely not alone in this matter. Canada is full of impressionable misguided souls such as yourself.
You're young though. As you mature and learn what the world is really like, grasshoppper, your opinions will change.

I've voted conservative in every federal election since 2000. There are just too many poor policies and lies on their part for me to support them any farther. They're past their best by date.

You don't see why people might take exception to a politician with aspirations of the reaching the PMs office making comments that only serve to divide the country?
I realize that it's easier to blame Alberta/Harper than it is to accept the fact our own shortsightedness is to blame for Canada's manufacturing sector declines, but we're not going to solve the problem until these morons stop deflecting the issue.

Soooooo the Canadian public is supposed to give a collective shrug to all the lies, lack of transparency and contempt for parliamentary procedure and keep voting Harper et al in?

If what Trudeau said was so scandalous and so wrong then why did the Conservatives wait til now to bring it up? Because they are scared. Trudeau apologized for generalizing in the interview and clarified that it was about Harper. It might be a divisive issue for Harper supporters but I'm confident that the average person can see through the spin.

Probably because when that happened, Trudeau wasn't that important.
Now he is.

Why would you say that? The Trudeau family's love for all things communist is well understood. From Pierre being best friends with Castro, his son's fawning editorial over his death, and their family vacationing in cold war Russia to see the future of the world, it's hard not to see their love of the extreme leftwing.
