You took the words right out of my mouth! Seriously though, those things matter. Not sure why you seem to think I would ignore that fact here?

If its true and reliable then I hope that progressives mobilize behind Harvey Locke and put him over the top.

(of course, one other possibility is that "undecided" voters are less engaged, and less likely to vote).
I guess I'm one of the 16%, because that's pretty much my strategy. I'll vote for whoever is closest in the race the day before the election (as long as it's either Locke or Turner.....NDP over my dead body).

Some are reporting that 1 or 2 polls are pending, so that should really help clarify things.

I think there's those that are fervent, but also a healthy contingent like yourself that are waiting on the sidelines to see how it shakes out to strategically vote.

What an interesting by-election.

Do you know when they'll be out, or what pollsters are in the field?

I assume this is one of the party's internal polls he got his hands on.

Thoughts?
I wanna confirm this for myself, do you know how far into the broadcast it was?

Living in Toronto is a luxury for those lucky enough to be able to afford it.

Paying someone to take of your children would be offset by promoting proper recognition of the economic benefits of stay at home parents, such as income splitting.

Universal tax benefits are easier to administer, and much fairer than having the government pick and choose how people should raise their families.

Yeah - Dave. We'll see I guess. It would be very useful to have at least 1 final poll going into the weekend.

I just got a pamphlet from Stephe---err, I mean Joan Crockatt. With every instance of her name she includes Stephen Harpers as well (he actually comes first in order, and they repeat it 3 times). The photo of him is more prominent than her own.

Her biggest talking point is to tell me that Calgary is the greatest city in the greatest country in the world.

Talk about having absolutely no confidence in yourself, and having nothing to say.

Voting for Crockatt is like voting for the Borg.

Calgary better start having better CPC candidates because young (18-40) CPC supporters are going to start looking elsewhere. Talking to even the most conservative of my friends, they either 1) Have no interest in the election or 2) are going to cast a protest vote.

I'd I could tell Harper one thing it would be to start bringing out some better candidates.

FFWD has an article up about all the candidates in the race, although they say they never endorse anyone they did put this up as the picture to go along with the article:

Yes, that is a potted plant in place of Crockatt.

I got a poll call last night from a non-partisan group whose name I can't recall asking 1) what party I'd vote for today and 2) if there was a chance for a progressive to get in, would I change my vote to the one most likely to defeat Crockatt. There was also a question if the Con's Free Trade Act with China affected my vote. I wish I could remember the name of the organization, but it wasn't 1CC for sure.

The Conservatives are good at getting out voters election day. The buses will be ready to roll on election day to ship eager Conservative voters to the voting stations. Dont underestimate their cunningness to get votes. These are the same people who get voters out in droves for candidates like Rob Anders.

From what I heard the poll call last night was from LeadNow.ca out of Vancouver.

http://www.leadnow.ca/

The questions you described match what other people have said about a poll call last night.

LOL, so Justin Trudeau had an interesting interview from 2010 in French. This should go over well here.

Quote:
In the wake of Liberal MP David McGuinty's anti-Alberta comments this week, a 2010 interview with Liberal leadership hopeful Justin Trudeau raises the issue about whether that attitude is baked into the DNA of the federal Liberal party.

In November 2010, Trudeau told a Quebec television show that he was tired of Albertans running the country and that, whether it was Jean Chretien or Brian Mulroney, Canada is better off when Quebecers are running the country.

"Canada isn't doing well right now because it's Albertans who control our community and socio-democratic agenda. It doesn't work," Trudeau said in French to interviewer Patrick Lagace on the Tele-Quebec program Les francs-tireurs (The Straight Shooters).

Lagace then asked Trudeau if he thought Canada was "better served when there are more Quebecers in charge than Albertans?"
Trudeau replied: "I'm a Liberal, so of course I think so, yes. Certainly when we look at the great prime ministers of the 20th century, those that really stood the test of time, they were MPs from Quebec... This country - Canada - it belongs to us."
