Huge win for Juventus, nice to see them put a beating on Chelsea.

Jose trolling Mancini

This is big news. Wow.

Chelsea sack Roberto Di Matteo after Champions League defeat

Manager Roberto Di Matteo has parted company with Chelsea, the club has announced.
Di Matteo won the Champions League and FA Cup as caretaker manager last season and was given a two-year deal in June.

But in the wake of the 3-0 defeat to Juventus, which has left the Blues on the brink of a Champions League exit, he has left Stamford Bridge.

"The club will be making an announcement shortly regarding a new first-team manager," a statement said.

Owner Roman Abramovich has made contact with former Liverpool manager Rafael Benítez to gauge his interest in taking charge at Chelsea on a short-term basis.

Chelsea should be doing a lot better but that is pretty harsh considering his work last season. Short leash.

In other news, BVB only need a tie with Ajax tonight and they move on

It's all about results isn't it.

You compare the work of Avram Grant at Chelsea and Di Matteo at Chelsea.
They both took over Chelsea mid-season, both took the team to the CL Final.

John Terry slips and hits the post, Grant is fired. Schwinsteiger misses, Di Matteo is re-hired. That's the fine line.

Makes sense due to style though.

Di Matteo won since he was able to get the team play a tight defensive system at the end of last season.

This season RA wanted his team to play more offensive football which really wasn't Di Matteo's style.

I'd love to see managers brush aside the money and unite against owners like RA. He is the definition of a spoilt rich brat who places high demands with unreasonably short deadlines.

If he wants to play pretty football, maybe he shouldn't fire the manager who was trying to change the entire club's ethos rather than siding with the older players who saw the writing on the wall.

plus RDM is just not a very good coach

their CL win was the equivalent of Birmingham winning the league cup a few years ago

outplayed in every game to the final

Lets go Dortmund!

Błaszczykowski is back but starting on the bench. Weird.
