They did have a horse in Montreal. They used a local one.

The Stamps’ regular horse, Quick Six, a staple at McMahon Stadium for about seven years, wouldn’t have made the trip anyway, as the team typically uses a local replacement for road games.
Similar situations have arisen before, Drake said. In 2008, a deal was struck with Olympic Stadium a day or two before that year’s Grey Cup in Montreal.

How is the home team determined for the Grey Cup game? I was thinking it would be pretty funny if the Stamps got home team since they finished with the higher record and kicked the Argos out of the home dressing room.

Don't know if this has been posted yet but the halftime show features Justin Bieber & Carly Rae Jepsen
Didn't realize the average viewer was expected to be 12 year old girls.

I think (could be wrong) the home team is the team from the division where the game is being played. So Toronto, as the east team, is the home team

Meh, I can't fault the CFL for trying to appeal to a younger demographic, besides, I have two daughters ages 14 and 10 who will be spending time with their dad hopefully watching a Stamps Grey Cup victory. If that means we all have to spend some time watching Biebs, it's a small price to pay.

It isn't, hence the halftime show that brings in viewers that wouldn't otherwise be watching.

It'd be great, given the events of the last 2 days, for the Stamps to get the Blue Jays dressing room.
I assume Toronto will be wearing blue...meaning the Stamps will be wearing white. Hopefully red pants and red helmets but I assume the leotard looking white or black stripeless pants and that black helmet.

Is the guy in the grey suit secret service? He bolts into action like Costner in the Bodyguard.
Calgary's less fortunate will be eating heartily next week thanks to this guy, no question.

This coming from someone who doesn't watch CFL, but doesn't Calgary always wear red in the Grey Cup? Red has always been synonymous with the Stampeders - a lot of tradition there.

They wore white when they won in Montreal.
I don't think they get to decide what uniforms they wear as that is decided by the league.

The higher ups at the York Hotel are saying they won`t allow the Calgary Grey Cup committee to bring the horse in the hotel either ala 1948.
I think they were planning on doing that for the 100th anniversary anyway, but it's a bigger deal now that it's a Calgary - Toronto game.

Who cares if they "allow" the horse in the hotel? Just ride it in and deal with the shocked faces afterward.

I agree that they should if they have a choice. My guess is that they are told to either wear home or away and they already know right now what its going to be.
After reading your comment I couldnt remember a time when the Stamps wore red in the Grey Cup, so I went back and checked every grey cup the Stamps played in during my lifetime.
2008 v. Montreal - Stamps wore their whites
2001 v. Winnipeg - Stamps wore their whites
1999 v. Hamilton - Stamps wore their whites
1998 v. Hamilton - Stamps wore their blacks
1995 v. Baltimore - Stamps wore their whites
1992 v. Winnipeg - Stamps wore their whites
1991 v. Toronto - Stamps wore their reds
They should let them wear their reds, but I doubt it being in TO.
I cant find a pattern here. It doesnt alternate, and it doesnt matter if the game was played in an east or west stadium. I think it is something more arbitrary.
All that being said, when 2 teams have such different colours, I always believed that they should both be allowed to wear their "colours". Like the Atlantic game last year between Calgary and Hamilton, or like the USC/UCLA game last weekend.

In recent years, I think the "host" Division (in this case, the East) is deemed the home team?
2011 - BC - BC was home
2010 - Edmonton - Sask was home
2009 - Calgary - Sask was home
2008 - Montreal - Montreal was home
2007 - Toronto - Winnipeg was home
This would mean Calgary would be in their road whites for 2012.
