My rule of thumb is press every other win. That way if you've got $1000 on the table you should have close to that in your pocket.

Had no luck picking the same numbers so I would bet, erase, select five numbers myself and repeat.
I usually stay at the MGM Signature when in Vegas and there's a great little "locals" casino behind it on Koval called Ellis Island. It's a micro brewery so it's free pints if you're gambling which makes it great to kill time at the bar. One of the best BBQ restaurants in the city as well and they have a $7.99 top sirloin that's actually a great cut of steak. The place isn't fancy but it's a gem just off the strip.
All of my luck seemed to come picking the following kind of patterns:
Not a bad haul for just killing time.

Does anyone know if there's somewhere on the strip or in the airport that would sell a t-mobile SIM card?

Critique my Vegas plan. My wife and I are going with some friends this weekend. Staying at Aria.
So far, the critical information that I've garnered from this thread is a) take a cab to Vons upon arrival, and, b) use the $20 trick upon check-in.
Thursday Nov 22nd,
-Arrive approx. 8:30pm. Check in. Piano bar at approx. 10pm.
Friday, Nov 23rd:
10AM-Breakfast
AFT-Girls go Shopping, etc. Guys do something.
7:30 PM-Cirque de Solei Show: “O”
10PM- Fancy Dinner. Nine, Twist?
12AM- Bellagio Fountains. Slot machines
Saturday, Nov 24th:
AM-Aft: Exploring the strip.
7PM: Comedy Show somewhere or UNLV Basketball game.
9PM: Dinner at Stratosphere, or Somewhere else.
10PM: Explore the strip more/Casinos
11PM: Classy club
Sunday, Nov 25th:
10AM: Sunday brunch
12P-4PM: Hoover Dam
5PM: Sports Gambling-guys
7PM: Wax museum: Madame Tussauds
9PM: Restaurant: PRIME , Window seating overlooking Bellagio Fountains. (or something else)
Monday, Nov 26th:
9AM: Breakfast
11AM: Gun Range (guys), Shopping (girls)
3PM: Depart for airport
Other ideas:
-Area 51
-Blue Man group
-Another cirque show if we really liked the first one?
-Burlesque show
-Penn & Teller?
-Gordie Brown?

Stratosphere is way out of the way. I would just stay on the strip Saturday night. Looks like a fun-filled Thanksgiving weekend!
Sports gambling should start at about 10 AM when the NFL games are on! By 5 they will all be done for the day!

Check what time the last show at Bellagio is. I think if you show up at midnight you'll be disappointed.

IMO 'O' is the best Cirque show so not much point in going to another when you're only there for 3 full days.
You'll spend more time just going from place to place than you will actually doing things. I map and time my exploring in line with getting to where I need to get to for overall efficiency.

The best plan in Vegas is to not have a plan! Vegas is full of spur of the moment things, have fun with it and let the good times roll!

There are a bunch of college football games friday, no glamour games but plenty of games to watch while cursing at the TV because some 19 year old kid you've never heard of dropped a pass and is now your sworn enemy.

What are the best "low roller" casinos?
I usually play 5$-10$ a hand Blackjack, but if I run out of money, I wouldn't mind playing something lower if possible.

O'Shea's, but I heard it might've closed. Casino Royale is pretty low as well.

and yes O'Shea's is closed now

There is lower the $5???
lol.
If you can't afford to play $5 hands, the casino is probably the wrong place for you to be.
Lowest minimums I saw were $10.

I don't think you're going to find dollar blackjack these days. Sahara and Slots-A-Fun were the two places that had it fairly recently, but Sahara has closed and Slots-A-Fun got rid of their live tables.

Super low limit blackjack is great, not because you can't afford more, but because it allows you to dick around (yes I would like to split those 10s) while getting free drinks. Now that the dollar blackjack tables are gone, my favorite place to get drunk on the cheap is Treasures, which has $1 beers and well drinks from 4-6 every day.

Won't find anything lower than $5 on the strip. A few places on the fringe of Fremont had $3 (Main St Station, IIRC), as did Bass Pro. If you purchase the current Blackjack News (published by Stanford Wong) for $15 it'll outline all the table minimums and rules.
https://secure.bj21.com/order/order1.htm
Keep in mind that the lower the limits, the worse the rules, and the higher the house edge. When looking for a cheap table (when I say cheap I mean $5), look for automatic shufflers. They generally keep the limits lower and the rules better as it more or less negates card counting.

I looked at October's Blackjack News, and the following offer $3 tables. I ignored the ones completely off-strip or out of downtown:
(keep in mind this can change month to month, and the tables may not be open, especially during peak periods)
Strip:
-Circus Circus
-Hooters
Fremont:
-California
-D (formerly Fitzgerald's)
-El Cortez
-Four Queens
-Fremont
-Main St. Station
-Vegas Club ($2)

Skip Stratosphere, check out Downtown Vegas one night.
I heard that if you go to the Gun Store and then to the airport right after they might stop you from at security because of gun powder residue. Not sure if that is BS though.

If you want to play for a long time and not blow a ton of cash play Pai Gow Poker. Its easy to play, fun, and you wont lose a alot of cash no matter what. Just dont expect to win alot either.
