Wow, you guys went in a completely different direction.
I thought that Arnold's character from Junior was sent to prison, where he is still with child, and being as strong as he is, managed to stay active as a zombie. That is who the plump bellied zombie was, that was the roundness of baby carrying and not baby momma eating.
Sidenote: I sure hope Rick is hallucinating about the phone, because I do not understand why a phone, even an older rotary style one would be ringing in that post apocalyptic world, even if it is an internal line. I assume as much, could be wrong.
Also, that blond chick in the town is an annoying character. I want to see crazy ninja lady get into some exciting adventures rather than that style of drama.

Had a thought just occur to me:
Do you think the governor and related higher-ups in that town know that everyone is infected? It would only take an unrelated death or two for zombies to get on the inside of their town and run amok.
It's a nice idea that they could stand their ground and rebuild, but eventually someone inside the town will die for whatever reason and if they don't know to kill the body properly the zombie rises and possible causes a new pandemic inside the town.

I remember him telling this to Michonne and Andrea. They accused him of stabbing the two wounded/dead pilots in the head. He then explained that after you die, bitten or not, you turn. So they are aware, but that is a good point. Sharing houses with other people, someone dies, comes back and bites one.. spreads from that house.
It would be hard to wipe out the town like you said, but definitely could be a few casualties that way. I am not sure how you even prepare against this, besides locking people in their bed rooms at night.. or keeping your own door locked.. not that the zombies are turning door knobs. But a deadbolted door is much harder to push in than one that simply has the handle locked.

^^^ Ahh yeah, forgot about that. You are right.
Still it seems like it would be hard to have a permanent settlement of size until you figure out to cure the living. Eventually someone dies alone or a loved one gets stupid, like it appears the governor already has, and bam! You got zombies jumping out of closets and skulking down alleyways.

he also seems to have a bit of a herschel thing going. Keeping Penny, and I seem to recall the researcher saying he thinks part of the old person remains.
I reckon he is looking for a cure, that is part of what buddy is doing in his lab.

They did say that there is a strict cerfew. I would think part of that is to protect the town people from each other.
However in a population where most people are relatively young; how many people would be dying from some sort of "natural cause?" Especially seeing as most must be in pretty good shape; like they said in Zombieland- one of the rules is cardio. These people all spent a good amount of time running from zombies. I'm sure the fatties wouldn't have made it.

Rick seeing Michonne at the end was funny, didn't seem to think she was real after all those hallucinations.

Really enjoyed this week's episode compared to last week. A little disappointed on who was on the other end of the phone. I figured Michonne would end up at the prison sooner or later.
Sets it up for a huge season finale where the prison group raids Woodbury to rescue Maggie and Glenn. Or...sooner. With the pace this season has been going, they can't drag out a hostage situation for 10 more episodes.

I wasn't. The logic of any sort of telephone call going any distance simply wasn't there. Maybe with the generators being on for the alarm that could have charged the batteries to allow an internal phone system to run for a little while. But for a long distance call you would need power over the system as well as for the switching computers. 9 months after the world has ended- that wasn't believable.

Maybe I missed it and I'm an idiot, but has the person who was hiding behind the bushes peering as Carol was practicing cutting open a walker been revealed?
It's been 4-5 episodes since that scene, and I can't think of who it was. Very good chance I missed it though.

That's the person who's going to train Andrea?
Maybe they should just throw the arrows.

loved Rick's telephone bit, very faithful to the source. i wonder if he'll keep going back to it, or if him finally going to the baby was him snapping out of his bender
i don't understand why Merle took hostages though. what does the Governor have to gain from Glenn and Maggie? they have nothing he could want, Woodbury is setup way better than the prison. kinda hope they start expanding on his reasoning soon (along with why they were trying to go after Michonne in the first place)

Yes, he escaped, broke back in, opened the gates and baited the walkers with the deer kill.

To find his brother, Glen said he would tell Daryl about Merle and Daryl could come meet him. But that obviously isn't good enough for Merle.
Woodbury has limited resources too, they are continually looking for new resources. The prison has things that Woodbury doesn't and would have plenty of things to keep Woodbury going.
They are after Michonne for the very reason she took off...no one leaves. What if she comes back with another group to overthrow Woodbury? Besides that's a nice trophy head for the collection.

Hopefully they reveal what experiment the Governer is doing at Woodbury and what's up with the zombie heads in the fish tanks.
Loved the telephone bit. Rick seems to be normal now since he talked about Lori's death.
