The Bills deserve to be the Bills and all the crap that comes with being this franchise. You have arguably the best running back in the league, at least in terms of gaining yards, and you go empty backfield in the red zone twice, once on 3rd and freaking 1 after a 9 yard Spiller run and then on 3rd and 3. Of course this is the same team that thinks having Spiller off the field for 40 plus snaps a game is a good idea.

And again on 3rd and 3 in the red zone they have Spiller on the sideline and decide to throw the ball.

Another awful game from the Dolphins. They are getting manhandled on both lines. Fins lucky that they are still in this game. Both of these teams are terrible.

Bills win 19-14. Both the Bills and Dolphins are now 4-6.

Separation for a playoff spot from the top 6 to the rest in the AFC is getting larger and larger. If Denver beats San Diego on Sunday and Kansas City beats Cincinatti, teams 7 and onwards (non-playoff teams) will have 6+ losses already.

Yeah, a lot of bad teams in the AFC right now. Truthfully, even if the Colts only win 2 more games, that's probably enough to claim a playoff spot in the AFC. A Patriot win this week, and they pretty much clinch the AFC East. Really every AFC team with 6 wins pretty much put themselves in the playoffs with a win this week. There will be a 7 win team picking in like the 18th spot in the draft this year. It's strange how many bad teams there are right now.

As much as I think Andrew Luck will be a hall of famer and the Colts are exceeding expectations, that's not that good of a team in Indy either. They can't run the ball at all, a weak offensive line and a suspect defense. This weekend is going to be a big eye opener I think.

I think you'd have to be delusional to think the Colts are a great team, I was expecting a 6-10 season at best because they are still in rebuilding mode. But the Colts are clearly better than the majority of the AFC. Beat the Dolphins, Tians, Packers, and Vikings this season already so while they're not good they are certainly not a bad team. Also they are doing it currently without their top 2 corners and usually without one of Mathis or Freeney. Where was the big eye-opener against the Packers? I don't think the Colts will win this week against Brady in New England but I think they'll keep it decently close and cover the 9.5 point spread.

Some pretty damning evidence out today against the NFL:

http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/...-denials-years

Quote:
The NFL's retirement board awarded disability payments to at least three former players after concluding that football caused their crippling brain injuries -- even as the league's top medical experts for years consistently denied any link between the sport and long-term brain damage.

The board paid at least $2 million in disability benefits to the players in the late 1990s and 2000s, documents obtained in a joint investigation by ESPN's "Outside the Lines" and PBS' "Frontline" show. The approvals were outlined in previously unpublished documents and medical records related to the 1999 disability claim of Hall of Fame center Mike Webster.
This is really starting to become a moral dilemma for me. I love this sport so much, but the NFL is tarnishing its own sport at an alarming rate, and I do feel that by giving them my money and watching their product that I'm somewhat complicit in the future health problems of the players.

Agreed on the moral dilemma, I'm finding myself cringing at hits that I would have celebrated in the past because of what has been learned in just a few short years. I can't say that I won't allow my son to play football, but I certainly won't be suggesting it, either.

Other than Saints games, I don't think I've watched more than a couple hours of the NFL this year. Sure, some of that stems from my team getting jobbed in the offseason, but "The Shield" has other issues that should be concerning to anyone that thinks of players as more than a piece of meat.

Get well soon coach...as annoying as he can be at times he is still an icon in the game and knows it as well as anyone on TV.

ESPN NFL analyst Mike Ditka is in the hospital after suffering a minor stroke on Friday.

Ditka was at a suburban country club in Chicago playing cards Friday when he suffered the stroke.

When reached Friday night, Ditka told the Chicago Tribune that he was feeling "good right now and it's not a big deal."

I think they can make football safer. Boxing and MMA could be endangered species though. I won't watch MMA, and I have serious misgivings about watching boxing anymore. Are we complicit, when athletes risk serious brain injury for our entertainment? I struggle with this.

I don't know trout, maybe it makes me morally devoid, but these guys who lace them up right now know the risks. I can listen to arguments that guys 30-40 years ago didn't know better, but the ones of today certainly do. They are ultimately paid handsomely for it as well.

That includes Hockey, MMA, boxing or football.

They know the risk and they certainly know and accept the rewards.

I don't think it's that simple when you consider the backgrounds of the majority of these players.

Nice to see Jermichael Finley get back into the game plan...makes Rogers way more dangerous when they have to account for him.
